    Diegoboy's Mini Budweiser

Introducing Diegoboy's 17.5" Fiberglass Mini Bud Hydro.

I dedicate this build to my good Friend DIRTYSOUTH31 who has retired from the hobby.
I remember a time he used to love Riggers & Hydros
    This Bud's for YOU Dirty!

She will be stripped down and dressed properly after the build, but 1st things 1st, I have to finish a Monster Hydro for a friend.
    The mini Bud will have...

She will be run on a 3S Lipo
In the meantime, Here's a few teaser pics.

** NOTE: nothing is mounted as yet. All parts displayed are merely set in place. Stuffing tube is just inserted, not fixed to the hull yet. **

How long will we all have to wait to see this one run?????????????????????
I might have a Mystery 80 Amp controller somewhere that you could have as well as a cable. I'll check tonight.

Are you going with a prop wash water pickup?
And do you have a battery yet?

That is a neat looking hull and great that you are going against the grain of building very expensive large FE boats. The power proposed should make that a rocket on calm water

It shouldn't be too long Doby, Especially thanks to your kindness with the ESC. Thank you!

I haven't given much thought to the pickup yet.

Thank you Doug, I love to go against the grain, but this is based more on budget.

              Question from a newbie:
I have a 380 8L brushless Feigao that I will be putting in my first build (in progress Miss K vintage shovel 22.5X10 in.) I was thinking of running 2s, You are going to run 3s

Question: Advantages for 3s over 2s besides more power/longer run time. ?

Very nice looking boat btw. Thanks for your patience, guys. (So new to the sport, I'm almost completely clueless) I've always wanted to build a fast vintage rc hydro.

Thank you George, & Welcome to OSE.

The mAh rating of the battery will determine run time. The higher the mAh, the longer your run. The advantage of 3S over 2S (using our motor) is speed.
                  2S (7.4V x 3633kV = 26,800 RPM) or 3S (11.1V x 3633kV = 40,300 RPM)
There are a lot of other considerations too like C rating, but that's another story.
You can increase the mAh by running packs in parallel. Voltage stays the same though.
                  or
You can increase the Voltage by running packs in series. mAh stays the same though.
                  I hope that helps.

Thanks for the comment Jesse J!!

The neat thing about this thread is I started off within this hobby building H&M small boats a Drifter Micro Cat and a No Step One mono. All powered with NI-Cad (6 and 7 cells)and brushed motors and they were and are still fun boats. I will not sell them as I still love taking them out for a spin and they can be demanding to run.

I like the little boats because they are more cost saving to build and run. Plus they are fun, harder to see at a distance, but still very fun!
