its more for the scale look .as well as the power & sound. This was my first twin and its so rewarding to hear her and see her twin roosts!!

How about some detonged X447's cut down to 45 mm? Do you think the amp draw would be too high?

I ASUME YOUR TALKING TO ME..? IM RUNNING 442'S AND AMP DRAW IS IM GUESSING AROUND 180-210 CONST. IF THE HI MODELS ARE TRUELY RATED AT 200 AMPS-GUESSING FROM THE HEAT .. ILL CHECK AND DOCUMENT THE HEAT ON EVERYTHING TOMAROW AS WELL AS RUN TIME AND SPEED. IF ALL GOES WELL ILL TRY AND POST A NEW VIDEO NEXT TIME AROUND....

Yep. I was thinking the detongue might lower your amp draw and allow the props to spin faster with the larger diameter for increased speed.

______The Benefits of Removing the Tongue Area of a Prop______

Removing the tongue will reduce lift and increase low end rpm's. By removing the leading edge tongue area, it's more likely to slip at the low rpm launch, however at higher rpm and speed the tongue causes drag. Because the centrifugal force of the rotating prop at speed, throws the water away from the hub and tongue, towards the outer surface of the blades. This is why removing the tongue, generally increases rpm and top speed. I think this is important to understand. Also the tongue area has the lowest amount of pitch, which also adds drag at high rpm.

The 442's were detongued but not back cut. If you are pulling 200a now 447's (cut down to 445, detongued, and back cut) might let the magic smoke out ... but there is only one way to find out.
