    The stinger is not adjustable at the transom. I used 1/4" OD brass tubing annealed it where it passes through the transom and into the stinger. The tube butts up against the brass bushing in the stinger. The drive is smooth, quiet, and teflon free.

      I just noticed the "grease guard" on the stuffing tube. Great idea!

        It does a good job for what it is. A spring steel paper clip, a "T" shaped piece if 1/8" ply and a nylon reinforced rubber flap.
        If you look close you can see the 2" masking tape under the collet. When it gets nasty I'll replace it.
        I got just a bit anal huh??

                I thought that may be what it would be used for. Up here in the barren FE world, we may have 6 FE boaters and Peter is the star. Unfortunately he lives in Alberta and can only run his wonderfull boats for a very short period of time. Also Peter, I love building boats and get more satisfaction out of that process than running them.
