My M1 SuperCat (identical bottom to the Drifter) liked an x640 with the 7XL - but that was with 12 NiMH cells. I set the strut bottom even with the sponson bottoms and up about 2 degrees at the prop end. The CG was between 7.5 and 8" ahead of the sponson transoms. But again, this was with nickel cells...it did touch 50 back then.

thanks.
The only thing I wish I did was lay some nice carbon cloth down like you did.
I laid the cloth about a year ago, when I had some cheap stuff around.
I didn't have time to change it this week.
it does really add a unique look to a boat 4 sure, love the color and scheme on your drifter, doogie would be proud 4 sure have a great weekend steven......

Not to change the subject BUT () is that a Thunder Tiger in your avatar? If so hows it running so far?
I have one of these Drifter hulls as well. I am running a ul-1 motor with a sworfish 120 amp esc. I was impressed with the straight line speed of the boat, but not very impressed with it in the corners. It tends to "slide" quite a bit in the turns. I am using an Octura rudder which is not particualry "deep". Does the fix recommended for this hull in the "tips" section of OSE work pretty well?
Yes Steven it's a outlaw obl love it modded some stuff I did not like from the factory gotta get with wholt and see what we van fo with drive to make it easier to grease the flex shaft very satisfied with her have a bandit obl due here any day from thunder tiger kinda excited to get it and play tks Todd

On my old drifter with octura hardware, Getting rid of the steps helped a bit. But then I put on a long speedmaster rudder and it cornered very well. So I'm not sure that I would get rid of the steps. On this boat I used a longer rudder and stuck with the steps. Its yet to be wet, so I can't say how well it run yet.
wanna see video of it i love mine its a rocket in straights but corners ok that is the drifter s
made a cooler system for the outlaw circulated chilled water through the motor and esc using small frozen jell pack..........
and large hiflow esc cooling plate seald lid closes cooling system
need to upgrade esc to 120 amp will do that next
running turnigy 4s 5000mah 30c
pic of wk bench too lol

Let me know how that works for you Steven when you get a chance to run it. If that solves the cornering issues it would be a great boat because on the staights it really is fast and stable.
I kept the steps in place and the boat ran very well and cornered well with a longer rudder. I think a lot of "experts" wasted a lot of time screwing around with the bottom of these boats when all they really needed was a longer rudder. The steps do increase the speed potential - unlike many catamarans with steps, the H&M cats have functional steps.
