    Help/Advice first build

    Hi guys

So after considering all the RTR's on offer I have decided I would much rather try to build my own boat.
I have read through the wealth of info but just wanted some confirmation.
I can get myself a Kb45 8xl 1600kv motor [remember this is my first build I might blow things up].
Hull is a 39 deep vee weight 1400g [enough motor?] can go to 29 800g weight 0r 33
What would you guys recommend in terms of a lipo/esc setup?
I had the etti 150 in mind? with possible motor upgrades in the future.

Am I on the right track here
All I am doing at the moment is sport boating.
Runtime not speed would be the greater priority.

    Thanks for reading
    Matt

Hi there i run a KB45 8XL in an 820 mm long boat about 33 in
in a 39 in hull i would go for the 10 or 11 xl KB45 and run it on 6 or 7S
Etti 150race version with the extra cap module wold be just fine

      Cheers Adrian

My hull is 36", 1700 gr. weight. Tested on KB45 8XL, 5s with 43-47mm prop, and 6s 43mm prop. Runs fine but with 6s it is faster, but 5s will give more runtime and cooler ESC-motor-bats. The ETTI will be fine.
The ideal motor as most people recommend would be a NEU 1521/1Y again 6s for speed, 5s runtime, so I would recommend to buy it some time.

You have to do this to get it running save on 6s . Without it the engine heats up faster . But its a very powerfull motor and low priced.

My 2 dutch euro cents .
