)will still take the lizard and do some wave jumping should be fun
Not sure on the weight will have to put it on some scales but i would say around 5 to 5.5 Kg, how's the new cat coming along ?Comment
-
LOL !! cats coming along good, should finish it today I think, I might pop down. ive got to go into town to meet a mate, so will call in on my way.
Yeah i will definately be getting and ETTI when I get my next controller.Comment

Make it all scale like so that no one can complain it doesn't fit the stupid rules.
Probably go 4S seeing I think the 2S class the club is looking at is only for hydros at this stage from what I can tell, not much info on any of this though.
4S is probably the better option any way as the larger boat would be better suited to Wattle.
Big list of stuff to get, Etti ESC, KB45 Motor, Lipo's, Charger, Radio Gear, Rudders etc... I think ill start with some balsa and a sheet of 0.4mm ply.Comment

Go up in smoke? We'll see. At least its not blowin any hatches off!
Etti 150's are a good speedy though, If i do anything 6S i might get one. Gonna get a couple more HiModel GX200's before the years out i think though
Good on your Bruce, don't be thinking the KB45's the only way to go. A 9XL still has some pusha, as well as the 8XL. And dont worry about scale, just paint a windscreen no further foward of 65% of the length and its all goodMmm silly rules alright, might need a tweak?

Yea I don't like the rules but I wasn't around at the meetings to voice my opinion so I can't really complain. I think they crush innovation in the offshore class a bit though, a scaled down version of my old class 2 boat Zero Limits would be against the rules in the electric class. Best not clutter up Adrian's thread with rule complaints though
I guess the difference is that the CC go up in smoke and it's RIP, Etti blow lids off and come back stronger

Yea that Lizard of yours is insane, I put a lot of blame on it for making me want to build a new boat, was a blast driving that thing!Comment

KB45 seems like a good choice though, will let me run 6s if I want to at some stage.

Even if said lid costs more than the Etti

You can drive it anytime m8 np ,and as far motor choice, for the money you cant beat a KB45 the only motor that comes close to it for twice as much or more is the 580, you have pm
Cheers

Hi Guys just an update on this build
I got my new batt today two Hyperion VX G3 6S 5500mAh/35C witch is the setup that i wanted to run at the start of this build
I now have to change a few things in the boat to get the right CoG but it's no big deal, and might make some custom carbon boxes to hold these batt
I would like to say a big thanks to my sponsor Matt at RC Bandit he's the Hyperion importer here in Auckland for giving me such an incredible deal on the batteriesAttached FilesLast edited by EPower; 05-08-2009, 08:34 PM.Comment
