    Vacu Pickle Hydro

I just read and reviewed the build instructions on the VP. That is a very sweet boat. 8Xl and 50 mph? That is smokin fast.

It looks sweet in the water and looks like it handles very well in racing water.

How many have built or have one on here? I may have to have one.

    Jeff,

I am in the process of building one. I will be running it in our N2 class in the MMEU Club. Our rule have a few limitations to keep costs down, but I think it will still work. Here is what I am planning...

    Hacker 8S
    2s1P 5000 mah or 2s2p 7400 mah (2 3700 packs)
    Castle Hydra 240
    ????? on the prop
    Fullers super strut
    .130 cable
    Speed Master rudder assembly
    Aquacraft turn fin
    Hitec 225mg

I will try and snap some pics

And you guys are restricting the cost? WOW... Hackers, Hydra 240's...
out of curiosity, what were you going to use if it was not restricted?

Here is a shot of mine, I ran it P-Spec for a while (AQ system), don't know how fast, now I may go for N2, not sure yet... I have to find a leak first.

          Not really...

I had to use .130 because of the 8S and the small props. I am using hughey cable 3/16 stub stepped down to 1/8.

There are several guys using .130 cables in .12 (nitro) hydros... It should be fine... we will see...

            I bought my equipment used

            $50.00 for the hacker
            $180.00 for the 240

you can buy a NIB 7S feigo for $50.00 and a Hydra 120 will work for all of these setups. you need to understand this class was put together a few years ago before the Aquacraft SV equipment hit the streets, the NEU motors were much more expensive, and Lipos were not mainstream yet. We are going to run the class again this year, but I would expect changes a year from now.

BTW, Nice looking pickle. I like the paint, simple but attractive.

Oh, I get it... should be a fun class.

Thanks, I did not want to spend too much time on the paint job,
so I used two colors that go together and went from there. I think the stickers.. .I mean sponsors
              help the look...

How do these abs hulls finish at the seam..do you guys use plastic filler or do the 1/2's fit well enough that it's not needed
                thanks in advance

Jeff you won't be disappointed with the quality of this hull.

Steve you could fill the seam if you wanted to, but it's not needed IMO.
I'm still racing the prototype I built in 07.

I heard others saying it was a great hull as well.

I enjoy the building part and you all have excellent build pics on your site. Looks very simple and straight forward with a sweet layout.

I may try the new Ammo motor and ESC from the UL1. I am also dropping that power combo in to my Campbell Classic to see how she does.

                    Thanks for the info.

I think they are one of the best HIS (as per Andy) hulls I have seen. I am not sure how the halves fit since I bought it in the beginning and it was sold as assembled only (halves put together).... all I really had to do is the drive sys and the steering and the sharp edges (of course).I think I may fill the joints but like Doug said, it's more a precaution at this point. The motor mount is excellent, I need to get those for my other hulls with smaller motors.

It is not ABS mate it is high impact styrene, a very different beast and I believe a better madia for boats.

Yes, I have been making that mount for my boats for some time.

Is there a way to dampen that loud slapping sound this plastic hull makes when it slaps the water? Maybe one could line hulls interior bottom using fiberglass or Rhino lining?

                              Detox,

I don't know of any way to dampen that slapping noise. As a matter of fact may nitro boats are so quiet they too have that slapping noise when running.
