Maiden went well, no mechanical issues during run! It definitely wanted a larger prop than a X442. I also had a decent amount of drag from turn-fin, so I will re-work and sharpen some more.

Very nice, did you modify a lot, or make things fit within the existing nitro design? The motor could probably go where fuel tank is, but any issues with battery placement and interference with boom tubes?Comment

My only small critique was that the kit did not have a stand, huge thanks to Zipp for the laser cut one! Great service! (I did modify slightly to show off paint job.)

Did some testing at my subdivision pond. So far I think the H7 prop performed the best.

In the water, I'll try to get a video next week.

I am starting two of them. Lots of boats but first riggers. Using 4082 1600Kv on 6 cell. Should be about same prop rpm as yours. Did you decide on which prop you like? Any other tips now that you have it running? Thanks, BretDumas Air Boat OS 25 nitro, Dumas Air Boat Brushless, Midwest Lobster Boat, AQ Lucas Oil Cat, Dumas Hot Shot IV Proboat outboard, Delta Force Cyber Storm 33Comment

Other tips:
1. Lower battery tray height as much as possible, either cut out some of bracket or thin out main tray piece. Even though mine are already lowered, its a tight fit with the packs strapped in. I'm waiting on Mojo 4s 6K mah battery packs to see if I can get them to lay horizontal vs on edge in my pictures. I can fit up to Gens Ace packs with 47mm width (25mm height) on their edge (too tall to run flat = 25mm x 2 = 50mm). The Mojos are 48mm width (will be really tight /not fit on edge) and 18mm height, if I lay them flat, 18mm x 2 packs = 36mm. 36mm is below the 47mm battery height I currently run and already know boat can handle more than 50mm wide packs. Mojos packs might be a good solution to my battery height.
2. Come up with a way to mechanically secure the hatches. I added thumbscrews to this Jae, but on my nitro I didn't. Having the hatches fall off in transport is unavoidable at times, don't want them getting broken / scratched from falling off especially if you took the time to paint.
Other than that, nothing really. Boat runs great as expected.Comment

Thanks for the information!!!! If I figure this right you run about 6000 mah total with 2 - 2 cell in series? For same run time on 6 cell I would need 4000 mah (2/3 the amp draw) So 2 - 6 cell 2000 mah in parallel would be the same. I like parallel set ups because each battery/connector only "sees" 1/2 the amp load.Dumas Air Boat OS 25 nitro, Dumas Air Boat Brushless, Midwest Lobster Boat, AQ Lucas Oil Cat, Dumas Hot Shot IV Proboat outboard, Delta Force Cyber Storm 33Comment

Not as critical on 6s but don't forget pack capacity and C rating can be a limit as well, Ah X C rating = pack amp rating. 5000mah is 5Ah and a good battery pack's true c rating is probably around 30C, 5Ah x 30C = 150 amps potential.Comment
