took flight on a 100mph pass, then did 2.5 cartwheels on land.

        Is your hull a bulletproof?

            Sad to see this.

Actually when a 100mph pass ends on land this is what it looks like. No matter what type of hull.
It may be repairable with a lot of effort or a low quality carbon hull would just be complete scrap but you will not just walk away from such a crash.

This is why I don't paint fast boats. When painting them and I really like the American Ethanol design, it is murphys law that something like this will go wrong.

Holy crap Ryan. I did not realize you pulled the skin off it. Good opportunity to install a levelling canard and gyroscope

I didn't pull anything off, but I caused it, that's for sure. Nick Battiato at Vivid Image Paint is taking care of all repair work and eventually the paint. Just got progress pics today...

sanding and shaping is done and initial coat of primer is down. The AE team is changing some logos for the 2021 season. I had considered updating my paint scheme to match, but really like the original Big Thunder logos (no longer a sponsor) and will probably stay with that version with just a few small updates.

How did he reinforce the internal stability?
Can you expect that the "bulletproof-stability" will be achieved again?

The shape of the hull looks good again.

It's solid, with the added penalty of weight, but at those speeds, weight isn't really an issue. If there's another catastrophic crash, the hull is done for good and will become wall art.

Forgot to update this post when I got the hull back just before Christmas. I looks better than new. All paint and body work was done by Nick Battiato at Vivid Image Custom Paint. I decided to stick with the original Big Thunder sponsorship even though the team has a new livery for this season. The 23 logos are larger this time, closer to scale, and the "Recycler" logo was added to the rear of the hull.
