Hello dear friends.
This is my first time here in OSE forum. I am from Greece. And I am just at the beginning from a new project. It’s an Apparition 32” ep.
I have see a lot of interest statements at that post and I am very happy.
As I told you I’m just at the beginning. So, you can see the way that I’m thinking to fix the servo. It’s a standard size servo. Just upside down.
Using the reverse from the R/C you can drive your boat straightly.
What are you thinking about?

P.S. The servo at the picture it’s an old one. I use it only for measurements.

Nice approach Nikos I think it will work just fine and solves the problem of the low hatch lip.

What' s your motor and what setup?

Basic setup : Motor 540L 2600 rpm/V, ESC Turnigy Marine 120A,
4S, 2 X 3000 mah (parallel), prop. Octura 438.
How it seems ?

That setup looks good on the paper. May be an Octura X440 or X442 will be better

I'm afraid that the X440 or X442 will give us high current.
Motor's rpm and batt. voltage are high too.
I mean : 2600 rpm/V x 4 x 3,7 V = 38.480 rpm (off load)
Is it safe for a X440 or X442 ?

Id me more concerned w/ your esc amps than props on that set up. You may end up over 120A

You might be better off on 3S using a 442. Amps will still be questionable for a 120 esc. Should be a 40ish MPH boat though?

- 540XL/10 or 540XL/11 or 540XL/12
- 2 x 3S (22,2 Volts)
- X442 or X642 or M445
- Hi Amp ESC , HiModel GX200 for example

That is a fantastic set up and great speeds. (its how I would do it)

Another set up and more common for 4S is a 540 8XL, 442, 642 and an esc that can handle 150A+

My Eagle tree showed about 100A on 4S, 442 on a 9XL. That run was 40.9mph. I never logged it w/ the 8XL, but I like that set up much better. It ran mid 40's... 46. something if I remember correctly. Id imagine its under 120A, but just barely.

Hi guys, I just took my late fathers HOR32 out with a GPS in it, I didn't get much time as I have so much on today but I managed to get a speed and some temperature readings from it.

KIDS!!!!!

Here is a video that describes how the servo works, after making the new servo base.
As i told you i fix it upside down.
I test it using a spare ESC for brushed motors.

Afraid not my friend, I do think it is running at a good speed, I tested it with an Anderson Smart Tachometer and on 3S it came up something like 32k rpm and on 4S it was like 41k... well, that was using a 4 digit tach' and I'm sure I shoud X by 10????

Anyway, I will get back to it soon and post on my twin thread....

Interesting. Id think at 32K it should be moving right along.. and at 41K it should be screaming! Keep us posted.
