        Thank you TomToys2, I'm sure he would've. :-)
I have run this boat and am very happy with the way she runs, just under 50mph with the GPS in it...

Lol, Thanks HJ! I'll throw up some video's when it's done.... Including the GPS.
As I say, I'm not getting much time on the boats but I am plodding through...

I'm repainting the hatch and when I'm happy with that, I'll lay the graphics up and give it some nice shiny lacqure.... It should turn out nice.....

If you wet sand with 800-1500 paper you can get rid of the steps in the paint so when you clear coat the steps are gone pretty much.

Thanks, I have been doing that but most of my problems are with masking.
Some of the black had seeped under the joins and gone onto the red and orange.

I'm going to re-paint the cover and I'm sure the graphics willl hide the rest.....

                    Thanks again.

OK enough!!! 32 pages later and i still didnt find what i was looking for so it is time to ask!

why cant i find any info on someone running a 1515 1y on 4s??? i have 4 different motor options for this hull and it is time to make a decision so its time to take a survey from people that run this hull. here is what i have available, let me know what you would choose.

                      ESC's:
                      castle hydra 240
                      castle hydra 120
                      turnigy 180
                      turnigy 120

                      motors:
                      turnigy 600 outrunner 1400kv
                      neu 1515 1y 2200kv
                      castle 1515 1y 2200kv
                      castle 1512 2650kv

                      batteries: all 40c
                      4s 4000mah
                      4s 5000mah
                      3s 5000mah
                      i have enough 3s to make a 6s set-up

i have a prop collection from 27mm to 60mm x series, m series, 14xx, prather and abc. prop not a problem

i originally bought the turnigy 600 heli motor to run 6s set-up but i am hesitant because i dont really have a 6s esc. what is your experience with hydra 240's and turnigy 180's on 6s?
if your set-up would be 6s than feel free to use a etti 150 30v, i am not afraid to buy one as i have had good luck with them.
                      thanks!!

Turnigy 180, T600, m447 6s = 55mph. Ask me how I know. I'm considering going with an x650 prop. The 180 is bullet proof and the T600 is a torque monster.

have you tried the 1515 2200? i was going to copy your set-up but am just curious what the results would be with that.

The 1515 2200 didn't fit, it rubbed the hatch and the hull. I used the 151x 2650 and got 58mph on 4s, but too much RPM to sustain. Some others have moved the mount and stated 55mph w/the 2200. It's a powerful motor on 4s.

The key here is available watts.

                            4s 180 amps = ~2500 watts = ~3.4 hp
                            6s 180 amps = ~4000 watts = ~5.4 hp

                            The T600 is a 3000 watt motor = ~4 hp
Which makes the low Kv of the 1400 attractive to run on 6s as well as amps being well under the 180 rating.

alfa - look at this set-up, i finally got it dialed in with about 8 oz of lead in the nose and the proper cog and i am starting to love this one. the set-up has been bullet proof so far. i am running a m445 and got it doing 55 since the charts. mine pulls a little higher amperage than it should because the driveline is a little tight, just one of the things i need to get worked out. i can barley hit speed in my small pond. every time i run this thing i like it more....
                                http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...light=copy+cat

here is the data from the first runs, there is no doubt since i got it handling better it is at least 5mph faster because i can actually get full throtle for a few seconds now. you will notice in all the graphs how much off the throtle in the turns there was but now i can actally carry some corner speed and get full on down the straights.
