    Project Apparition TWO!

A while back I smashed my Apparition into a "slow no wake" pole and did some damage to the nose of the hull. Not knowing if it would ever be OK again, I ordered a replacement hull.

Well, it turns out I'm a pretty darn good epoxy repairman as the hull repair has held up wonderfully.

I stumbled on what I thought was an empty box and turns out I had completely forgot about the hull, it was just sitting in my attic from earlier this year. So, I did some diggin around in my extra parts bins and I put together enough parts to build a complete new Apparition! I've learned to buy extra of just about everything as it usually comes in handy later. Good thing I didn't buy another ARR Apparition like I was thinking of doing a few weeks ago!

So far there's a 4030 1400Kv Outrunner, 200a ESC, TFL Hobby Strut/Rudder/Drive/Motor Mount, OSE 6mm coupler and 078 wire drive.

    Two 5k 30c 3s Lipos to run 6s.

    Awesome build

Nothing like finding a spare 32" painted cat laying around!

I will be watching this one. I have been eyeing that motor as a replacement for my 36mm Turnigy outrunner, should be nice. Also looking at using it in a skunkworks II cat I have laying around or hanging up somewhere. winter project (the water gets really hard here!) as I want to finish up my 40" scarab and another small mystic cat before the snow flies.

go to it man, can't wait. Brian

Are you waiting on your order from me to get out for this?

Want you to try one of my 78 drivesx3/16 that is silver brazed and see how it does for you.

Actually the 3/16 I ordered is for the Osprey, so no rush, but yeah stronger is better for the Little Screamer 10/12s setup.

This will be 4mm 078 wire and I have it in hand from our last order.

        Updates:

It might be a couple of days before beginning the install, the paint is still drying and I want it to fully cure before attaching / drilling into it.

I'm hoping to have it done and in the water by the weekend with the New (to me) GPS in and ready to get some numbers.

Starting with an x440 and working my way up... x442 K45 m445. Think I'll wire in the amp meter for this one.

Some updates; this thing sounds wicked!
The "Whaaaarrrooough" sound of the big outrunner is cool.

Waiting for the ESC blocks to get here to finish waterproofing the ESC and do the plumbing and she's ready for water!

but I feel so sorry for that hull with this big motor

Yeah, I'm a little concerned with the flex I've seen already. But, I've run a CC/Neu 2650 to 58 mph w/442 on this hull/mount setup and it's lived quite a while and flexes about the same... Finger's crossed.

The inner hull paint idea came from painting a radio box and really liking how the epoxy paint bonded to the fiberglass. It's really smooth too. We'll see how it holds up over time. Perhaps I'll do it to all of my projects. I just really hate the nasty build up that the bare fiberglass accumulates.
