Love the color, where do you find the fittings/connections for the external wire plug.

Thanks Beaux. The safety loop fittings I made myself. They are machined from aluminium and 6mm M/F bullets fitted into them. It just makes a neater finish for these. I have another set at home I can take some pics of and post later. BTW I should get this out for it's first runs and dialing in tomorrow arvo.

First run tonight. 2 1/2 laps in went over a bouy and upside down. Got it back, another 1/2 laps and it did a 180 and the steering stopped working. Servo has gone la la, I think why it cut in and hit the bouy. Other than that it was running quite well with only a bit of steering trim needed in 2-3 inches of chop. Was running a prather 225 for a starting point. New servo purchased and I will fit it when it turns up next week and try again next Thursday.

                Unfortunate test run.
But it all sounds promising for the next run.
I hate those sorts of glitches on a maiden run.

Yep no damage, just annoying. I had 4 sets of batts charged which should have been enough to dial it in and try a couple of props. Dunno what,s up with the servo, it came out of my pursuit and never had a problem previously. I'll open it up tomorrow and see if it has any condensation in it. BTW several minutes upside down and again right side up and not a drop of water in the boat. Big tick on that count!

Well the new boat has had a bit more running. Club day a couple of weeks back it did all four heats with a win in one (racing against gassers). Playing with props so a mixed bag. Two lap sprints last Saturday with a time on not so ideal water of 33.005 on a 447/3 being the fastest of the day, but not quick enough to beat the open electric mono time I set last year with my Pursuit. But early days. The best time for Q offshore was 36.100 with a 447. I'll push that time down next year. I have just swapped out the TP 1620 kv motor from my Q hydro as I am thinking that a faster spinning smaller wheel may settle the hull down at speed, probably run a M445.

I run the 447/3 on my 1600kv motors with 6s. It's my favorite prop on a mono around that size. Nice & settled in the turns. It's a 36" hull though.
I race the samr boat with the same motor in our 4s class with an X 452/3 on it. Gets along pretty well.

                          Hi Paul
I don't know that with 5000mah batts the 447/3 will leave enough after a heat. The TP motor is a D wind and in my hydro uses around 3800-4000mah for a heat on a 445. It was gps just under 96 kph on the back straight even with the esc cutting from some interference issues a month or so back. So if it gets the mono running that speed I can keep up with and beat the gassers. I haven't had much water time with this hull so far, no flat water yet, and it rocks a bit in race water wake but settles fairly quick and turns well, but if it gets the bow in while turning it does the seadunker thing. CG has worked out at 30% with the battery pushed right forward on the mounting plate and it runs on the ride pad staying dry. I tried a 648 the other day but that had way too much lift and ran the hull wet. I will do a bit more playing with props and see how it goes.

Yep, it is great when a boat runs well off the bench. I haven't adjusted trim tabs at all from where I set them, but have tweaked the stinger angle a little. I still have 2-3mm of height adjustment up in the stinger which I may play with a bit with bigger props. Just more water time needed but at this end of the year there are only three more race days left before we break for the Christmas /New Year for a couple of months. May get down to the pond during that time for some test and tune however. I should have some Revo GO packs by Christmas too, if Hobby Hanger (NZ Revo supplier) gets them in by then.
