Is that 2.1lb with the battery or empty? 950-1100g (2-2.5lb) is typical Hydro1 weight RTR. 280g is just over 3/5lbPaul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.Comment

Ok, well I did the unthinkable this morning. Revolectrix site is down (well the checkout part) till the 17th and I needed a more appropriate sized battery. So I looked at thunder power and Hyperion and boy are they proud of their batteries! Lol. A little ole 3000ish mah was over 100 bucks in one of those names. So the unthinkable was I bought a turnigy (cuss word when it comes to batteries with me!) bolt hv battery. It's 4.35v and the size and weight are what I need. Hopefully it doesn't burn this little rigger to the ground.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

I got some goodies in today. For now I'm using the stock 4mm shaft so I had to get a sleeve to adapt my 3/16 props. Those came in. I ordered a small abc prop and it came and a smaller battery. What's awesome now is with the smaller battery I can fit the gps in it. I did the famous run around the yard like and idiot test to see if it picked up signal because the gps has to go in sideways. Worked fine. Now it's time to test turnigy sneeze 4.35v bolt battery against the new 4.35v revolectrix. The revo is at a slight disadvantage because it's 3100mah vs the turnigy 3300mah but I think they should be evenly matched because the turnigy is 65c vs 70c for the revo. O and of course some prop testing to see how fast this bugger goes. I'm thinking it may be around 50 with the stock prop. I dunno. It looked fast but it is only 26" and that will fool you.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

We are at a campground this weekend and we have a waterfront lot. It's a small pond so not much speed will be had but it's good enough to run in circles, which is what this thing loves to do. It really does not care to go straight because even the driveline is offset to the left. But turn well it does. I'll get some video in a little while. But the gps results are in. The stock prop with a 3300 pulse 3s 60c lipo it went 34. Looked a lot faster than that. Lol. So then I swapped props and put the new turnigy bolt battery in. I was definitely more happy with that result or 54.4mph. I did flip it once and it landed right side up. Ugh. I wanted to test my little top side rudder so I had to throw it in upside down. Worked like a champ! Pretty cool. I'll get video of that later too.

It was darting a little every now and then unless I kept tension on the rudder. Traced it to a loose servo arm. Tightened it up and I'm charging batteries. Be running again soon. Should go a little faster this time.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Well the little things will drive you nuts lol. So it wasn't the servo arm being loose. The area where the splines are is too deep so it was rubbing the servo case. Glad it didn't mess anything up! So my simple solution is a lock washer on the inside to space it out. Seems good now.
I'm doing a little prop testing too so I can see what it likes. I tried an octura x438 just now and it's not quite an abc. Next up is a cnc prop that worked well on my shockwave.

I've been running this thing all day. Loads of fun! I just tried a cnc 443 and it went 38mph. It was a handful to drive too. It had loads of bite and bottom end, it would pick up one sponson out the water and flipped several times. Not fun but good thing I have a way to drive it upside down lol.
Another thing. It's now getting water in it. I think it's where the stuffing tube exits the hull. I'll address that when I get home. It run down right awesome with the abc 1515 and a 5500mah battery. Has awesome run times and the extra weight helps it handle rougher water better. I have not touch the strut either.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Update. Tried to run it in my lake and run some long straight runs. Ha! Didn't work to well. First off it was lifting the front end and two the servo was glitching. Found out later last night that the servo had water in it and on the circuit board. Here a video of what it was doing. First flip I had already let off and the servo glitched.
