Thank you Randy I hope he gets this rigger soon he is getting like a lost puppy waiting for it.
Paddy I could have some scotish blood in me as I smacked a Scott in the mouth the other day and he bled all over me.
As for the condom boat saver, I like it. Air bags for boats you have my vote mate.

Thant’s what I thought...... oh well at least I will have a lot of fun killing them before I move over to something bigger and better. What if I series them together 37V.... no not a good idea then I am looking at 122,100 RPM and a small fire, at least it’s on water so it will go out when it sinks.

        Thanks again chaps

            Boat Joke

I love this old Joke but funny all the same:

Radio Transmission - British Navy vs. Irish

IRISH: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South to*avoid a collision.

BRITISH: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the*North to avoid a collision.

IRISH: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees*to the*South to avoid a collision.

BRITISH: This is the Captain of a British Navy Ship. I say*again, divert*YOUR course.

IRISH: Negative. I say again, you will have to divert YOUR course.

BRITISH: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER HMS ILLUSTRIOUS! THE SECOND LARGEST*SHIP IN THE BRITISH ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS,*A CRUISER AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. DEMAND YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE*15 DEGREES NORTH. I SAY AGAIN, THAT IS 15 DEGREES NORTH OR COUNTER MEASURES*WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.

IRISH: We are a lighthouse.....................Your Call.

              Smoke on the water
              Fire in the sky

              I love that song.

The British - Irish joke sounds like Andy everytime his boat is about to hit something in the water. He even hit a snake about two months ago. Andy gives way to nothing. I need him down here to clean my pond of ducks.

Slim I was looking at Mr. Krabs the other day and I noticed there is quite an amount of space that runs the full length of the hatch on one side and back to wherever the servo is on the other. I filled this space with Styrofoam. If you get the correct width and cut it just the right size you can slide it in and it will hold itself in place. I tried putting it in water first and then pushed down on it and it is amazing how much force is needed to make it sink. This might save my boat one day and is as light as a feather. I did not glue it in as I am hoping there will be no large holes in the hull if a major problem happens. The Styrofoam cost me nothing as it is amazing how much I see of it in Dumpsters of a night. It also leaves just the right amount of space for the battery to sit in and not move about from side to side.
Naturally should a fire break out it will add to the smoke color and fire intensity once it starts to burn thus providing some good visual effects for my entertainment.

LOL Paddy, like the theory, I have been experimenting with condoms in the rear if the hull, if you place one in and blow it up it fills the rear and I am sure another couple will fill other parts. The reason I use condoms is that they are flexible and tough; in addition they fill the parts other flotation devices will not fill. Only problem is they are hard to tie when inflated in tricky places and I am sure they will leak under pressure if sharp objects are close by. I have wrecked 2 tonight due to splits. I would say make sure you wash them out first but initial trials after washing them makes them brittle and raw condoms with lube are better (unfortunately this leaves lube on your lips..... not nice).

Back to solid flotation i.e. foam and packaging devices.

If you have any spare condoms send them my way Slim. I will pull them over the ducks heads and see if they can still breathe. I have to clear a path for my fast run on that lake.

I find a sniper rifle works just as well, the only problem you have is clearing up the carcases before the run. There you go I think I have just invented a new blood sport, wickedbrill !!!!

Can’t you use another boat to zip along and scare them off to conserve battery power on Mr Krabs, before the runs? We have problems with seagulls occasionally sitting on our pond until a fast boat zips towards them.

Another thing before I forget, back on batteries again, I had a chat with one of our retired electrical design engineers and he thinks / knows that the amps required by the speed controllers are actually quite low, a lot lower than the manufactures are admitting to. Basically higher numbers are better and therefore that’s how they brand them, “our ESC is 240A so it is better than the 120A competitor’s model” and therefore we can charge more for it. Not sure if this is true or not and I cannot find any information to substantiate it but it would be very interesting to place a meter in line with a boat under load to see how many amps are required. Has anyone tried this and found out how many amps can be pulled from a LiPo he thinks it is low but I am not too sure?

Thant’s it for tonight, I have a bruised leg from Ninja tonight. So I am going to bed. Paddy perhaps when I can walk again and I have fitted Styrofoam or Jonnies to the boat we should exchange photos of our creations, I would say masterpieces but that only applies to yours.

Good question about the amps - not sure if there is a standard. I remember years ago the audio industry went through the same type of thing which led to the RMS standard.

                                Slim,
I know of at least one guy that is cooking 360 amp esc's. A lot of electricians know very little about what amps model boats can pull. I have a data logger to test my Mr. Krabs with and I will not be surprised if I do not see 180 amps or more at times. I will let you know when I test it. You can buy data loggers on the OSE shop that will tell you how many amps you are using. I have cooked 2 esc's in the last 2 years and I think I am lucky my kill rate is so low.

As for the ducks turn up the volume on your PC an listen to what my Chinese wife has to say about the ducks on my pond.

Chinese wife = Peking Duck if I let her. Have you ever seen a Chinese woman with a meat axe? Scary business I can assure you.

You can see how the Xs2 was hopping in that video and that is because of a badly aligned strut. The prop was facing down a little and thus throwing the transom out of the water.

I hope that nice office girl you mentioned a few posts back might massage that bad leg of yours so you have two good boating legs for the weekend.
