You also may want to have the tubes a little smaller to give some meat around the edges of the hull, you shouldn't need to move them too much.

This is a good plan as I think there is a little something something to where the props hit the water at the tunnel. Good plan Chris and Brian. I'll see what I can work out. I am planning on having a bit of give to the stuffing tube.Comment

Hi Shawn,
Please post pic's of your flood tube setup when you get there. This idea is new to me and I'm not sure how it works. I've seen Rockstar's pic's of his set up on his big mono but I believe he did a quick write up and there were no detailed pic's of how to set it up and I'm not sure I understand advantage/disadvantages of it. Thanks JJ.Comment

I was thinking you would want your strut ajustability at 90 degrees or "square" to the ride pad. Even if it means knocking the corner off the strut mount and drilling the hole higher to move things in some to take advantage of the entire flooded tube.
Is there some advantage achieved having them "splayed" that I'm missing?Comment

I like the idea of splayed and slotted for adjust ability, and run them and see the effect.Comment

Hey Shawn whats up ? Looking good so far !!!! I ran twin 1717's in a few boats and,i will tell you one thing. You will be entirely happy with the power they can produce. I am currently building a sprint cat with two 1717 and etti 220's. If you need any pics let me know and I will send them your way.my youtube videos http://www.youtube.com/user/chris81983?feature=mheeComment

Thanks Chris, So you have a very similar build on the go Chris, way cool. Should be able to corner good with these at a decent clip too.
I got holes drilled for hardware.
I don't know what happened yesterday but I went to get a proper drill bit and run boats and next it was dark and bedtime.Comment

Shawn, that is going to be a nice setup. Wish I had the room on the transom of my Fantasm to do the same, I would much rather go with the adjustability of struts over stingers and the diff in $.... Sorry, just kinda popped into my head.Comment

I got everything layed out on my template square(except for the splay), set it on and started drilling. Used a UNI bit for the flood tube holes
And then got to mounting hardware finally today. Yes one side has a 'short strut' and the other is a 'long'. I haven't decided which to use though I am leaning toward the 'long'. Even though Andy recommended keeping everything 'tight' to the transom. He actually claims they handle real well as a single and the strut mounted on the floor of the tunnel. Anyone tried this?

Shawn, thats looking good... Be interesting to try each strut setup and see the results...Thats the prob with the transom overhang design of my Fantasm, it really does limit what and how things get mounted. I am trying to figure out how to do what you suggested...Tunnels-PS295. Cats-H&M M1 Supercat Daytona rivercat. Monos-DF Cyberstorm HiTech 29.
