Pete, I picked up some honeycomb aluminum plate to make motors mounts out of. Remind me to show ya. Very slick. Only 1/8" thick.

I actually thought about providing Aluminum motor mounts that were cut on the water jet, but it just never happened. The water jet class is $240 and they charge by the minute to use it! To be totally honest, I'm loosing $$$ on these things. I discard half the wood because of warping. I spend a ton on wood, cutting charges, and shipping. The 1/16" sheeting is expensive. I need to find some local sources. Anybody have any ideas?Comment

Hi everyone. It's been awhile, but wanted to provide some updates.
First off, congrats to Kenny! 1st place 2016 MMEU P-Sport. That make 2 years straight of this boat winning the MI Cup and the MMEU P-Sport class!
Feedback overall has been that this boat is very stable in race water. In fact, a lot of guys have made mods to make it run more loose.
Going to make some changes this winter. We'll see if they pan out in the spring....
1. Shaving about 8mm from the deck. There is tons of room in this boat (too much, actually).
2. Adding about 5mm WIDTH to each sponson ride pad. I feel that it still runs heavy in the water with the weight of (2) 5000 packs. I know the guys overseas run only (1) pack, so maybe this will help the USA guys only.
Below is a photo that shows some of the new cuts layed over the old for comparison.Attached FilesLast edited by Shooter; 11-29-2016, 01:44 PM.Comment

Mine is faster than any Pete. Just inconsistent with me breaking well...............every damned thing.
Got it figured out though. I'll take it to Warm ups and get it sorted again. Hopefully, come spring it will be bullet proof and we can drop the hammer to see what it's really capable of. Run it through the lights in Flint maybe.Noisy personComment

Yeah, last time I saw yours run, it was incredible. Stable, fast, and turned well with the mods you made. I really think this boat can handle 70mph in race water with the larger stance. Mine is a good 8-10mph slower than that at the moment. I need to figure out a new recipe for motor/esc/batt/prop.
Hopefully I'll be cutting more of these in a few weeks. The wood is on order. There's a few people on the list.Comment

No but at less than half the cost they're hard to beat. Performance is similar. One thing I don't like about the TP is that the motor wires are super long. Makes for more heat there.
The 1.5D is a work horse too. Mine is at the bottom of the pond at the Shelby pond. It's been there two seasons. I'm sure it's fine right?Noisy personComment
