Yea....I'll definitely blow it over. I may step down on my motor choice hehehe

O...and yea....I'm devising a method right now to seal the hatch with no tape....doug....you know me all too well!

Travis, this is mine, built by none other than Doug Smock. I have an UL-1 motor with x642prop. At this speed there is no blow over yet, very stable, love the boat!
Don't mean to clutter your build thread though.
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

No man you not cluttering! I appreciate the video...this is one i saw a while back and was drooling over. I love that boat! Best looking one I've seen. She runs nicely! I'm out in the shop right now. I just stripped it and I'm painting the interior black. I can see it now it's gonna look nasty real quick if I leave it white. Be back shortly...

I love the CF battery tray on the black interior. What kind of paint did you use? I remember the instruction cautioned the use of specific paint and glue.

It said to use enamel. I'm pretty sure that's what it is. If not I'll be buying a new hull and starting over hahaha!

Travis this hull is a blast...it took me a little to find proper cg. Once I dialed her in with the help of Doug s advice it was an entirely new boat. Mike and I actually take his mhz nomad which is actually 3 times the size and race oval together. This little boat has a ton of hard use it is still like new. For example I tried running my ul1 that I had the same way and it didn't last too long. The prop that I found to work best is a X 442. It was a fun boat to build, and iwould not mind doing another one.

I have tried it both ways. The one pictured has been on the boat for at least two years. Play around with it and see what you think. It's really only an issue when the wind is up during a race. I have also added approx. 3 oz. of lead right at the front end of the motor if conditions are poor.
In ideal race conditions this boat can walk away from the bigger limited boats.

Sorry to trash up your thread Travis. Hope some of this helps. Nice work BTW.

This is my first non cat build. Not bad for a plastic boat tho. I have another hydro on the way to me to go through for Scottm. Then there's one i want in the ose store that comes in green I want but it's out of stock. When they get more in I'll get one. I'd really like a carbon Popeye tho....

A build like this would just be a quick snack for Travis!

The green motor looks really good with the silver jacket against the black interior. is this the 1415?

Yes sir, it's a 2400kv 1415 being run by a mm2 that I've got to make a cooling block for. Start on 3s......and work my way up (when I'm driving it that is!)
