The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

How to make a pusher prop:

      1. Hold a tractor prop in your right hand with the convex side (the front) facing up.
      2. Using your left hand, turn the propeller over.
      3. Install the newly created pusher propeller on your motor shaft, being careful not to allow it to return to "tractor" mode.

Would just reversing the motor instead of mounting it forward work? Could you move the weight to the rear to help the nose from dipping down? Looks like a lot of fun! Great job!

I thought that would work, but the guy at the LHS had me second guessing myself.

I just got done flipping the motor mount around for a pusher. I am working on the leaks now. I will be really mad if I kill more radio equipment. not sure if I will have enough day light for a second run or not. Hopefully with the motor flipped I will be able to use all available power.

Wow I just tested it here at the house. it will zip across almost anything. It ran right through the grass, right across brick pavers, and then I took it in the house and ran it on the tile and wood floor. This little outrunner could have easily pushed a bigger boat.

next I am building a cage for the prop so I can run thru grass and not damage the prop.

We used to put motorcycle number backing tape on the bottom of our gliders to keep them from getting scuffed up. The car guys have something similar (although heavier) and I think they call it chassis tape. ( ) This stuff is clear and bullet proof, in addition to being slick. You could put this on the bottom of your hull and race in a parking lot. Even better, race in a poorly graded parking lot after a heavy rainfall.

bottom tape not a bad idea doc, but I'll just let it go for now.
I just got done running it again, the wind played h3ll with it. my rudder needs some work as it loosened up a bit. once I build the birdcage the rudder ca be pined top and bottom. I am also going to add a couple strakes
