The size of the ESC doesn't affect speed. The T180 won't fit with your current battery setup. The T120 will work fine for you. In our case, the boat was setup for 6s with a Neu 1415. The T180 was required and would only fit in front of the motor.

The speed control won't make your boat go any faster, its just an amperage thing ok... The stock motor is rated at 50 amps, your speed controls are rated at 120 and 180. So they are both overkill to me but the 120 would work just fine and as for the battery tray look at my picture. Mine is fabricated out of a 1/8" plywood with Velcro epoxied to it and then I glued two 1/2 wood rails with screws in it and I use a piece of fuel tubing as a rubber band to strap the battery down... Works GREAT!

Nice looking machine ! I wonder with the wood + battery tray + battery will sit it to high and the top wont close. Ill have to go home and do some measures.

The 1/8" ply was most likely overkill. It does only add just over 1/8" in height though.

Just re mounted the Servo in place after I let the Carbon Kevlar cure. Does anyone consider the tactical brand ESC to be good.?? Thanks.

oops and re fitted the shaft, had to cut some off. Also a new aftermarket 5mm x 3/16" collet and the upgraded flex cable 3/16" with drive dog. Prop ideas? Tristanjones gave me great info also thanks!
