I'd agree that 5s isn't necessary. The stock 1800kv motor turning a m445 get's you un the high 40's. Prop up to a m545 and you get just over 50mph.

Updated progress of the boat. Ditched the 4mm bullets and re solder on Castle Creations 5.5mm. Stock motor mount.

Anyone have any ideas on a battery tray? Aftermarket with great results?

              Thanks

You can use a CF battery tray. On the one I did, I mounted the lipos on the sides and the ESC behind the motor. Mainly because of the size of the T180.

You're fine the way you have it, with a single Lipo in the center. I did it because that's the only place the ESC would fit. It was a 6s setup, with two 3s packs.

Gotcha. I was looking At that same 180A ESC. Room is definitely limited. Would be a bad idea to try and put in the back end of the boat.? Center makes more sense. Seems easier to get to also.

Running the AQ 3674 motors, you won't need the 180A ESC. 120A will be more than enough and it should fit right where the stock one was. The form factor of the new SK's may not fit anymore so you might want to use a SF 120A.

                          Rick,

So Is A 180A overkill for my setup then? Can I use it for my setup? would it be faster to run 180 over 120Amp. Or Am I asking for it? If I run shorter run times w/180.. ex. 2-min runs and NOT have it open for 3 miles. everyone's experience and knowledge helps a bunch..

                          Thanks Again.

if it will fit...and its overkill...it should live forever. Wont hurt anything to run it. Its a good esc so I say go for it.

Will I trade off Speed going with the 120 over the 180. ? Or should I expect same MPH numbers. Im Not at all "PRO-STATUS" with setups.....yet...

                              Thanks again
