I got a PDF of the Whip and have drawn in AutoCad from the PDF, I was wondering that when going from full size (1/8" ply) to half size would 1/16" ply (1.5mm) be sufficient?

A question on why the sponsons are not identical?

I thought about that also and I guess the only way to find out is try it, the glue-up area where the skin is glued to the frame work is what worries me about using 1/16" frames... If you put glue strips on the frame to widen the surface area that might work for you

and the diff in the sponson is for better cornering

Thanks for the reply, I will adjust my drawing to stay with 1/8" @ 1/2 scale.

High tech did you ever get to this build? I have, since I posted here earlier, Put 1/4 ride pads that match the bottom of the existing ride surfaces and now with a leopard 3660 2550kv motor, atomic(seaking) 120amp esc and 4s 5000mah 50c venom packs its running like a bat out of hell and is going to be my calm water p-sport for this season. Buying a full size whip .21 for rougher waters.
