To make a long story short the boat didn't like the spaced fins, quickly confirmed that on the first lap , made a second lap to be sure, brought boat in took out spacers ,much better. Finished the charge out and boat was fast and on edge , you could tell there was to much lift and it looked as if it could blow over in a moments notice with little improvement to the high speed wobbling. For the second run all it did was put a little positive on the strut and bam ! That's the night and day difference I was looking for. The more defined square edge like a trim tab is what it needed. I shaved some top speed but I can go fast straight with no worries. The sharper fins are letting the boat carve a little quicker as well. Making a new strut by this weekend implementing the things I learned from this one. Basically I did this strut ride plate on the fly with no real accurat measurements , just eye balled it and cut and see what happens. I know the mor positive I put on the strut the more it shaves water of the prop so next ride plate will be more level with the keel. The vid isn't the best but it's something .

Getting ready to build a proper ride plate. The one I was testing was actually horribly aligned ! I'm going to make sure it's perfect this go around. Should be way better than my eyeballed version lol

Let's hop there is not a earth quake while the tack cures.... This plate is a bit longer with trim tab steps to see what happens. The prop is much closer to the plate, hoping for more water to the blade , I was thinking it was actually pushing it away from the blade on the last one. This ride plate has a wider left side thinking it would do something too

Ok so I got tired of dicking around with the lexan and made an aluminum plate with the new speedmaster strut . The kicker is they don't make the struts like they use to and you can bend them easier . Not good for my app.

Just ran it and it seems promising . I like how I can bend the back tips like trim tabs. I have 11 runs on this boat now and the setup is a perfect match so far. The esc and motor are running way below dangerous temps. The only thing getting warm are the CC 6.5 bullets on the batt side but those are only around 120-130 after 3.4-4 min runs. The x642 is causing more power consumption but only marginal increase in esc and motor temps. Batts running a little warmer but not hot. I need to sand the bottom plate some just to true it up some as it was rocking but not as bad as the first plate which was un even as well . Bending the tab on the left side of the plate helped. I had to come up with a system to keep track of my runs..... Maybe I will use the tape on the right for crashes , ok sounds good, it's 3 . I uploaded the pic before I thought of that lol

This is pretty cool with the 'ride plate' there. BRAVO

Thanks srislash , ok hear is my newest vid . It's my second run of the day, the first run was good and only needed some positive taken out of the right plate tab. This vid is called "getting skippy" lol

I hit a fish or something soft because there is no rudder damage. It happened just after the first lap.

This is a awsome build and I like the fact that you built a lot of your own parts. Those Turn fin/Trim tabs are great for turning, but I hate to say that Ride plate deal is not going to work like you want it to unless you make it adjust independently from the strut.

You might be right. I left a bunch of room so if I need to do that I can. I have done a lot of experimenting with the tabs and am going to make a new pair that should be better. The aluminum plate makes things too easy to do trim adjustments and is saving weight so I'm going to play with it until I can get it close to running with the big dogs out there ! Ha ha

Keep working at it, it's a great concept. You'll get it figured out, but I really think you'll end up making it independent from the strut

Thanks Flraptor07 for the comments !

Now quick question for everyone .Blue or Titanium CF tray ? The Lexan is just too flexy and when I was pulling out the batt the lower tray flexed out of the front holders from Velcro's forces. Now I'm done with lexan and I'm thinking it could play a minor roll in handling because of possible batt movement due to the spongy securement. CF should also double my boats value

The lexan tray would be much better if glassed or epoxied it in but since I need it removable the cf will be better . Hit me up if anyone is interested in owning it.

Grounded these out , going to make the tray removable in the sence that it will grind out easier.. Also going to try and ad more strength to the engine mount via cf tray

I'm caught of guard and try to ignore him because I want to get my stuff and leave . So he goes what you working on ? I go "that's ok I don't feel like sharing " ..... Really this what people have to say to the guy at the auto store now ! Lol
