Opened up the cottage this weekend so it was time to test out the fruits of my labour over the winter. The weather was not kind though........lots of rain. I couldn't wait any longer so I went out any way. No vidoes, I had a hard enough time keeping things dry.

All I can say is "holy sh!t" is it fast. No issues getting the sponsons on the water at all. No hoping either. Just smooth and fast. I'm used to a 45mph Revolt and this thing was significantly faster. My guess is mid 50's with the m445. Everything came back in cool after the first minute and again after running it another 2 minutes.
The only issue was quite a bit of water getting into the boat. I'm sure it from from a less then stellar tape job in the rain and the initial flood of water over the sponsons & bow when it's put in the water and you get on the throttle. For the second run I stuffed a couple of paper towels by the leading edge of the hatch and did a much better job at taping. The paper towels were only slightly wet when I removed the hatch.

Not as much luck out of the gate with this. Lots of cavitation before it gets on plane, very smooth at half throttle and it starts to porpoise bad at full throttle. I couldn't hold it a full throttle for more than few seconds for fear of it bouncing right of the water and into a butt ugly stuff. From the few seconds of full throttle, I could tell is was fast though. At least 50mph and everything was cool to the touch when I opened it up. That surprised me as I was half throttle for most of the time.
I'm not worried about the cavitation. I know the x447/3 was a little small for the weight of the boat. The porpoising is concerning. It think it tells me the stinger is trimmed too far up and I need to push down a little..........at least that what I would do with my full size boat. I'd rather not do anything with the trim tabs yet. Does that make sense?
