The hull and cockpit were wet sanded with 1000 grit to remove orange peel. Both were sprayed with U-Pol#1. After a few days I wet sanded again with 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 grit. For the 3000 and 5000 I used 3m Trizact pads, nice stuff. Have a great finish. The file size was reduced to upload so some resolution was lost.

Now that most of the major building is done, time to put it together. Here are the results. Still need to make the hands for the figures. The heads can be turned and the arms move up and down.Comment

I did not use hatch locks. I made up this device which is hidden so there nothing on the deck that does not look like it shouldn't be there.Last edited by Ken_NJ; 05-28-2015, 10:35 PM.Comment

Looks like you have it hooked to the center driver, do you slide the center guy to unlatch the cover?Comment

I should have a picture topside how the hatch is released. Even better, video is done, hatch is explained in the video. I did not open up the throttle all the way so will still get a few more mph out of her. Let me add again, I'm not going for a way too fast boat, scale looking is fine for me. With this build, I reached my goal on the look I was striving for and very happy with the speed I'm at. I wouldn't change anything that I did. I still have lots of small detail to add, cleats & deck fittings, morse control, handrails, another gauge console, map decals. And from last years run, I had about 30 minutes of run time, will verify that this year.
In the video I slowed segments down, I thought it was interesting to see it at that speed.
