      Thanks guys!
Unfortunately I haven't had much time to enjoy it. We will be leaving for Missouri in less than two weeks for the shootout though...I should have an opportunity to get a few runs in there.

@kfxguy: If you've made your own carbon plate with proper materials, you know how much it costs (and the hours of labor that go into making just panel). If a retailer is selling carbon plate for significantly less than everyone else, they're typically either using cheap polyester resin, layering in black fiberglass, or both. When you see a retailer selling plate for less than the cost of the fabric and epoxy needed to lay it up, well...you can do the math.
I'm not sure what kind of deal you're getting, but I thought I would give you a head's up. There are many who do not have a problem cutting corners and selling an inferior product.

I'm not sure who took this but thanks! This was taken at the 2014 LOTO mini shootout. There really wasn't enough room at the event this year to run the 185 safely. I made a couple runs under about 1/2 throttle and quickly realized that I had no business running this monster with all the obstacles around. Still, someone managed to snap this shot of her sitting in the water.

          Beautiful Pic!
Love the colours on this boat..
I just watched the 2014 mini shoot out. It looked VERY hard for any boat to put the power down at all with all the little rollers coming through from real size craft. Howd she fair after the tumble? Any gel coat cracks?

No, it was fine. Fairly soft hit at only 75mph (which was actually the fastest run of the day). Broke a steering cable and slight bend in the rudder, was back out there on Sunday. I made one other pass later at about 1/2 throttle and went 88 but brought it right back in. The crash was caused from rudder input (my driving) in rough water because I was simply too nervous to just "let her rip". I really should have never put this one in the water there in the first place.

Next year's event will be managed by a different person and should be a lot different. It was clear that an emphasis needed to be put on safety and the guy that took it over for next year is on top of it. It's also a goal to make sure we have some smoother water for guys that want to go fast.

As far as hard to put power down, yes. The fastest run was 99 but that was done outside of the normal competition hours, when a few boats ran early in the morning. Even then the water had some small rollers that made it difficult to run fast. "Chop" as most people call it, is easy to run in. The rollers are another story...

Yeah i thought running towards the dock where all the people in Geico like colours were standing was a little scary, only takes a boat to lift off similar to what happend to Outerlimits ( 1:1 ) and its a heavy, sharp object flying through the air.. Good news you have it sorted for next year.

I know what you mean by trying to run the big girl amongst the obstacles. You cant just relax and concentrate on what the boats doing.
Your to worried about your line, or something running out in front of you.

Glad to hear no damage to the boat!
Look forward to more vids on flat water or a fine chop
