I'm working on it...It bugs me everyday that I can't get the boat out again cause it's just another day added to the packs idle time. Since I haven't used them again in over a month i have to cycle them!!!!!!!! the lower quatlity videos that I have really show how this sucker flings water!!! You can tell by the rooster tail and high pictched motor whine!!!

No worries on the help!! I searched the internet for MONTHS before finding this site and then it was still a little bit of a pain getting info. I actually can't take all the credit... If you go on youtube and search for "shockwave36 NEU" you'll find another guy that gave me the motor spec. The NEU was crazy $$ but I do not regret it one bit!

The other thing / tip I noticed too is battery placement with the two TP6s2p running in parallel... I noticed that the boat is pretty squirrely because i have the batteries wedged with foam ON TOP of the existing wooden frame. It makes the boat VERY top heavy when on plane an I've been a little skidish / rolly coming into a turn under a full head of steam. In the last video that I did (the clearer one) you can see how it 'spun out' on me... It's alot scarrier of a spin out compared to when it used to spin out running the nitro motor. After the spin out with the electric setup, the hull kinda seesaws / teeters back and forth in the water as it's going to roll. I also noticed coming back across my own wake, if the hull leaves the water and you're not 100% straight it hooks violently. I've put down my trim tabs by like 3degrees or so, and that seemed to help alot to keep more of the nose down. No noticeable speed loss either... It takes a lil bit of playing around to get it to hook up right but you'll get! You won't be sorry, run the 6s2p in parallel if you have the $$ . I promise I'll get another video up with the batteries back in good health!!! crap, now i want to run it and i'm stuck in WORK! f$%^!!!!!

Just beware of the solderless blocks. Most of the ones I used to play with are very power robbing. It may not be a problem with a small prop, but as you start to increase size and amp draw you can cause some real esc issues because they wont allow enough flow of energy.

Give credit to where credit is needed and you guys run a heck of ship over here at Offshore...Hopefully you get some viewers off the youtube that read the description and come to your site! You should come up with a mount kit for SW36 for the brushless!!! I've have more than a dozen people stop me at the lake asking me where I got this boat from!!! When I get some time I'm gonna make another mock up of this mount and sell it on ebay!

I'll monitor voltage drop from the ESC to the motor the next chance that i get. I'm currently running my batteries through discharge/charge cycle on my 1010c and hopefully they'll be ready to rip for the weekend!

Steve recommended the setup I purchased and this site has got some great info on it. I cant seem to find a 5mm to .187 coupler anywhere though. Are you using the stock SW flex cable or have you replaced it? And I agree, the Shockwave is such a great boat, it looks like a real boat on the plane. When it was nitro I ran it in the sea along side our rib at 30 knots. If only I had thought to grab the video camera I think when Im done with this build i'll run it again but film this time!

Ya..still on the standard flex cable...it's served very well so far. I've got way more time on the cable on nitro and running in salt water! I do grease the shaft regularly though...lot easier to grease it then to explain to the police why your swimming in a "town park lake" to fetch your boat with torn off flexi!!! I didn't have any problems finding that collet because the NEU is an 8mm shaft and OSE had plenty of those on hand... If you change the flexi, you practically have to change all your other run hardware...flexi shaft, out drive housing bushings etc... Keep googling. As much as I hate to say look elsewhere, but if OSE doesn't have it, I'm sure you'll find it somewhere! ebay?

google that part number...or send steve an email or something. Try the parts board room....u never know!

would a neu 1515/1y power this boat ok on 4s or 5s without heat issues
and can the stock running hardware be used like the nitro mean machine builds

I cant speak for the 1515 but i would be a bit concerned about the weight of the boat with batteries! The boat here as stated is 8lbs with batteries included...thats a lot of water to be treading between...if u downsize n prop u may have troble even gettng this hull back on plane. See what the other guys have to say about the 1515...the 1521 doesn't even flinch when it comes to getting this boat up on plane....

check this one out! Much better video! I've got some cool pics of it too!!! One where it was upside down from choppy water! At the end my flex shaft broke and lost another prop. Now i can't find the stock SW36 prop still in metal. the proboat web says that the size was 1.90x3.0? I have no idea how to convert that to the Octura sizes. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it! Also anyone have any suggestions other than using the OEM flexi shaft??? This is the second one I broke and I'm not to fond of swimming in nasty lakes! Neither do the people at Verona park in NJ like it so much!!!! Thanks for the help! OSE rules!

Well the nitro size may not be exactly what you need. What motor, prop, batts are you running? Here is a quick clip of mine with a KB45 8xl on 6s. Running about 47-49 mph. Just to play I decided to take that motor out and see what the blackjack motor does in this big a hull. With a 442 on 4s it ran 32 and on 6s ran 44mph. Not bad for a small motor.

Holy crap that thing is fast.... My build specs are all the way up on top. First post on the thread....Neu1521 1.5y, 6s2p x2. I think I have a x440 or X442 prop. I just ordered the x648 cause it seemingly matches the nitro one. So maybe it's over proped? Too much for the flex???

Thanks my man! Sadly I never could tame this motor heat issues....It's a heat whore big time! I thought it was underpropped with my 642 on it so I jumped to a 447. It was crazy fast 54mph and would almost leap out of the water to get on plane. Anyway, back to the boat at hand. I think you are way underpropped fo sure. I'd try a x447 (to start with) being that you are turning fairly low rpm's with this setup. Make a few passes and check her temps. That motor has alot of power to be had with the correct prop.
