That explains why an X457 yields faster speeds and nominal temps.... Prop data only applies (in theory) when you have the same hull, motor, batteries, cg.... etc...

I am sure you will get it working good T!

      Later,

I have this motor. Do you recommend a thrust bearing for my Whip 40? I ask because before first run no end play, after first run, 1/16" end play?

Ran well and needs a 457 imo. I only tried a 452x3 and 2116 on a short course. Almost done with the cold weather moving in now.
I'll be using a thrust bearing next time out.

        Sorry for the highjack....

          I've got a GP400 and I run both the Neu 1527 1.5D 1500KV and a TP4070 1770KV. It's deffinetly faster with the TP, I'm using a MGM 28026-3 lite ESC and a 2216 ABC prop basicly 56mm 1.6 pitch

Ray no problems hijack away I am wanting to try some other motors I have been running a 1527 1.5d with good results in my old hull but would like to just try some other options. I have the inside of the hull sealed going to mount up the hardware and drill all the holes before I skin the deck I don't think I will make the last club race with this hull

I know how you feel. I got my Cheetah back from paint the day before the last really nice day of the season when a bunch of us ran at an Applebutter festival. You and Pete speed building like I did two years ago before the Nats, fun stuff. I'll let my paint cure a while now and it needs the windshield decal applied.
Next week I'll work on finishing my ML265 to try in lsh next season and if n2 ever comes to life again.
