    Alright finally .

I got the Astroflight 212D ESC & the stainless u-joints from the slow boat from China. I also bought a 300ml. can of butane, a roll of fine strand solder and a female deans to 5.5mm bullets off fleabay.

Since it was warm enough to take the V-Twinn out, I ran over to harbor freight and picked up a bag of zip ties, a micro torch and a needle file set to sharpen props with.....

Well it turns out the new u joints we're too small so I am going to run the stock universals and drive gears until I upgrade to a 5mm drive system. The micro torch from harbor freight was junk as well, so I picked up a nice pencil torch instead. I got everything assembled and soldered up so she's ready to run for now till the 5mm upgrade....

I was going to post pics, but I just got the new android 4.4 upgrade and its not letting me browse to the gallery to select pics, sorry .....

Yeah, things didnt work out on the drive system like I wanted, but oh well. I'll just have to increase the rotating weight with a 5mm drive system. Till then she's ready to rock n' roll,,,,,,

I am actually using am Asus quad core nexus 7 tab, updated to android 4.4 kit Kat o.s. now when I click
Manage attachments/choose file the photo gallery option is gone. Looks like I may have to go to photobucket as a proprietary
pic host. That'll be a pain in the arse..... Thanks Slash :).

Ok, since the arctic storm rolled in today I had to park my scooter for awhile. I played with my airtroics m11 radio & got some of the programming figured out. I installed a spekky Rx and got it setup, followed by a tub test. I still have a small water leak, but much better than it was. Now its not leaking in between the hulls, just a Lil' in the main compartment. Hopefully couple zip ties around the servo rod boots takes care of it.....

                Alright everyone, finally

Now that spring is here & things are thawed out, I got the Villain project in the pond for a shakedown run. Overall she ran beautiful other than i was lacking alot of speed for some reason. She handled even better once I brought the props all the way down to get the bow of the boat down and really give the x447's a chance to bite hard. I ran 2 Thunder power 3850mah 35c 4s packs thru her with no other issues. I was also happy because she took on no water

Well after I got her back home, I did some investigative work & solved the missing speed problem. The problem was with the settings in my airtronics m11 radio. Fore some reason the expo setting for the throttle side of this sr3001 pro rx, was turned down to 53%. No wonder it acted like i only had part throttle. . I turned the throttle input up to 140%. Now I've got full throttle + a Lil' .....

I did a Lil' looking into these motors before & after.
The stock stingers were 20t, 80 watt, 7.2v junk. The new hpi gt-550 mills are 19t, 550 watt (3/4 HP) 1400kv 14.4v mills. I will shoot video of the villain x soon, for a full throttle run on 35c 4s & 25c 5s so stay stay tuned. G'night .....

So, i had a delimma going on. I was wondering how to mount a 2.4 antenna outside the hull, w/o drilling additional holes thru the hull itself while !maximizing antenna height & length for best reception . Here's how I solved it.

I used a large yellow tipped electrical eyelet connector because it was big enough to crimp an antenna tube in, after setting maximum antenna length. I used a flat washer and a screw to anchor the new antenna post to the existin HB t OK we're for the factory power switch. Then I bent it up at a 90° angle so it was vertical.

                      I

Then I used a unibit to drill a close quarters hole that's just snug enough to support the new antenna mount. I put an o-ring around the connector to help seal the antenna hole, but I am not too worried about it ....

Now I've got twin antennas & a full 6" of antenna height off the hatch
I thought ya'll might find this idea useful for something, G'night

After getting the antenna setup I noticed that the traxxas h20 pick up snapped off. I must have clipped a rock

Rather than replace it with junk traxxas plastic I decided to fab one from a arbonfibre tube I have here, but utilize the traxxas bracket.

After trimming the bracket for a snugfit & reaming out the existing hole, it looks pretty damn good ..

                        If I didn't know any better, I'd swear it wasn't homemade ...

Actually Shawn I thought about it but its a larger ID then the villain ex pick up that snapped off :-) . It took a bit of persuasion to get the h20 line on it, but it went on ....

1 more quick video after messing with the steering trim a bit. I was going to try and get a half as a straight line run across the pond, when the receiver lost signal. The next video will be better guys
