Oh yeah, but still not to bad. I thought there was a hole or the seam opened.

Wow, great looking cat. I wonder if it's fast though...
Did you silicone the lipo trays in? I won't be surprised if you end up moving the CG forward a bit from where you currently have it.Comment
-
Yeah siliconed. I put them where you had yours.Comment

Yeah, I had a pair of 40.334s in the tunnel though, all the way up to the front of the hatch opening, and they aren't light. After looking back at some old pics though, I think you're probably right where you need to be. The center of the ESCs I was running wasn't far from the CG, and given that your motors are a bit lighter, it's probably about the same final CG. The setup I was running had a pretty consistent hull attitude regardless of speed. Have you weighed it since you put it together? I'm curious what it weighs RTR.Comment

No weighing however 10s using 6 and 4 it balances exactly in the middle of the second step which I've heard is just where it needs to be.Comment

Scott, email sent. Nice looking hull by the way, what a shame it took a hit like that "a good reason why I try to keep my boats under 90 lol". How are the Castle setup's holding up.?Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

I haven't powered up and ran anything yet. Still waiting on a couple things for the test hull. I have my fears with Castle controllers. Im actually very anti CC escs with all the problems Ive seen both in person and on here. But, I have heard the 200 V2's seem to be getting there so I thought Id give them a try. Im very grateful "redemption" came along to give me an opportunity to check things out before something lets go and messys up my brand new pretty hull. Not that I want o messy up a HPR hull, but this ones already seen battle scars so its a little more acceptable I guess.
And Kent, I agree, I will not be going for any type of speed records with the new one (build thread boat). Im looking for decent speeds and reliable cool runnings. Im thinking I could prop it to get real close to 100 based off what my 47 mono will do on one castle 2028 and come in very cool, but I wont. This boat when finished will be my show queen and come out on special occasions or when I have the itch to run it... "Redemption" however....Comment

Got it Kent. Hopefully Ill be ready in a couple weeks. Im on hobby fund lock down for the time being.Comment

Not that its that far off topic I guess but time to start talking again about the boat in title. This is the only way I can think of getting it back on since theres no building to report. Im kinda upset about the length of time paint has taken, but in all fairness, its not all the painters fault. Software and hardware problems from a severe lightning storm really screwed him up for several weeks while he got back on track, and buried with more work in the mean time.
So, to keep the thread interesting, here are some pics Ive got from the painter as well as parts from Kent from custom cf parts, my main "bling" man.
Ive wanted the Pair-a dice scheme since somewhere in the 2004 era. I got an HPR CT04 in 06, which is almost built now, yeah I know, and had dreams of that hull having this scheme. My problem wasn't so much painting the yellow, orange and leaves, but I didn't want the logos as decals. Although I did try to contact some folks who said they could make them for me but it never happened. So I discovered a painter thru a somewhat local friend I met thru OSE and thought "hmm, I wonder.." And so Pair-a-dice started to become a reality after 9 years.

The most completed one was from yesterday morning. No updates to report since. He was going to shoot the lighter overlap leaves yesterday. Not sure if he got to finishing the deck logo and start the side logos or not. You all are now as caught up as I for paintLast edited by tiqueman; 11-01-2013, 12:02 PM.Comment

And lets not forget the king of bling... Kent. I ran a couple ideas to him using drawings I did in CAD and we both agreed this was the best to go with. Kent said he could add color to it and I thought yeah thatd be cool.... I had no idea it would look like this...Last edited by tiqueman; 11-01-2013, 12:03 PM.Comment
