Ben is right, if you ever go twin the pickups are now in the way.
M445 is a great starting point on the prop tho

Out some carbon fiber in and finished the water inlets.

If running 6s you'll be asking a lot of the esc, I didn't see a post about the # of cells being run though? Something like 4s2p should be ok though. Thats still high kv though a 1600 or 1800kv motor would be kinder to all components and give you nice speed on 6s.

There are a number of online calculators for flow rate.
What you are doing with multiple pickups and y fittings will not increase your flow unless you are going to a MUCH larger diameter tubing from the Y. Then you hit a mojor restriction at the nipples.
From one or two pickups you will still have the same amount of pressure, speed of the water is not increasing due to multiple pickups.
The other issue with Y fittings is the water will choose the path of least resistance, if one side is slightly more restricted than the other the water will choose the easiest path with reduced cooling to the other side.
If you use a flow calculator make sure to use the smallest ID of the nipples on the esc or motor in the calculation, not the ID of your tubing, this is where you ACTUAL max ID of you cooling system is.
Found about all this stuff when I started running small nitro boats (.12s), I was over cooling them, couldn't get them up to operating temp unless it was 90+ out and the water was like a bath. Ended up switching out the water cooling for car type heat sinks and cutting off most of the fins! When I posted the question a while back on IW I was over whelmed with info. Some of those guys even use flow meters and restrictors, a bit over the top in my books. But I'm never going to set a record either!
Use no Y's and run an intake to the component to be cooled the out an exit, you have enough inlets to accomplish this without the Y's just need more outlets, One for motor, one for mount and two for esc. 4 in total, skip the rudder inlet.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Got the rudder in yesterday. Any ideas on how to mount it I the transom with a bit more support? I am thinking of fabricating a thin piece of aluminum, thread it and mount it on the inside of the transom to disperse some of the pressure. Thoughts?

What's wrong with just bolts and washers?

Nothing is wrong. Just putting the question out there for any ideas. This transom is not like others that are reinforced with plywood. As far as I can see, it looks like straight up fiber glass. Do you think it would hold with bolts, washers and nuts? That would definitely be easier.

Well, if it's just fiberglass I would probably glue in a piece of ply then just drill holes and mount with nuts and bolts. You could also use carbon fiber plate if you have some, but it's easier to find small pieces of birch ply at most arts and craft stores

You were right. Upon further investigation, I found that it was reinforced. I went ahead and measured everything out and mounted the rudder. Came out pretty good and perfectly straight. Thanks for the heads up!

Reading thru this thread takes me back to last year when i was building my FighterCat Daytona, which i enjoyed just about every sencond of the build and am more than happy with the out come!! I was overly worried about how many water pick-ups i needed, 1, 2, maybe 3, but in the end i just went with the one rudder pick-up and have not had even close to any heat problems! I run a T-180 Seaking ESC and an 1800KV motor on 4S so i'm not really pushing any serious boundries, i'll admit that. I hope to try 5S this season, hopefully it'll still be reliable! Good luck with your build Catman, looks really nice so far!!

                          Just a heads up,
But a offset rudder would have been a better choice.
                          For this hull.

Well I have finally had some time to continue my build. While I was waiting for parts, I went ahead and painted the Daytona. I have wanted to design this boat with an airfoce theme. Thought about it for a while and a couple of days ago i said " let's do it!" So here are the pictures. Hope you alike it!
