A big ol' piece of KBB CF plate for the battery tray worked out well. There will be 2 strips of high strength velcro for the batteries plus the straps. Since there are no rails in the boat, the motor mount and battery tray also add structural reinforcement.

There are 4 pickups and each component has a dedicated water line....17ft of water line in all. All the hardware is back on and all that is left are few small items and to s/b the props.

She weighs in at 32lbs with the batteries. I should be able to test in a couple days.

Took her out for the first test run tonight. I wasn't going to video since I was alone, but after running for a bit I had to get some video to share my excitement.
So I took some hatch tape and secured my iPhone to my TX. Nothing too exciting, just checking things out. Water flow was minimal, so I need to do some work to the pickups. Steering at low speed is a bit of a challenge, but I was in a small pond with a lot of buoys to navigate. Overall I'm am very please with the maiden.

I love the sound of the props under the overhang at takeoff....

Looks great Joel. Just a little tuning and it will be ripping up the water. Great job!! I hope my maiden next week goes as well as yours did

Just checked the data logs and with the x457s at 100% throttle, the RPMs are 27K @ 140A (200A inrush)....6017s should not be a problem.

                            Very nice first run!
                            And beautiful boat!

Do you think perhaps the turning at slow speeds being a little unsettled is because one prop is coming on and off the water?
Or is it more of a rudder thing?
