    jcald2000/Lenny,

I checked the coupler this morning as suggested by you guys and I was able to give it another turn and tighten it up some more. I won't give up on the prop just yet.

    jcald2000,
Yes the end of the cable was soldered, but you are right on the drawn amps., I was expecting something over 150 or so.

Is that a kintec coupler and is it a 3 piece or two piece ?
Something does not look right on it,
Like it is bottomed out on the threads.
Take it off and post some pictures of it if you can.

        Lenny,

It is the Kintecracing 2 piece collet.

          Sorry,
I was writing the same time you were replying.
So got the coupler to take a hole turn to tighten it more.
Will you be running at dusk some times,
I was thinking of some scale lighting for the thing.
It would look like a rocket exhaust if you added a couple LED there,
          And a bow light.

            Ok,
Some times the couplers fingers are not opened enough.
And do not bite the flex shaft good and need to be modded some,
So they will close a little better on the flex shaft.

Here is a detailed view of the same data:

              Aspect 2012 on Proteus 910kv 8s2p.jpg

The motor and esc are barely breaking a sweat. Have you confirmed the coupler was slipping?

                Tyler,

It looked like the coupler slipping was causing the collet heating up. I made adjustments, will run her tomorrow and report back. How did you manage to get the data log to look like that?

                Thx

Just do a short run and check the temps,
If all good run a little longer and check again.
                  Good luck with the runs.

Just click, drag and release like you are making a sqaure and it will zoom in on that set of data.

Do I have to clear the data log everytime I run the boat? What is the max amount of data runs will the ESC be able to store? Thx.

On the loggin tab it till tell you how long the data will record for before it starts to over write the oldest data. Yes, you should save and then delete old data. I also prefer to log at 10Hz for the best resolution on data.

Today's run was a success. After the adjustments I run her in two consecutive sessions of 2 minutes each and what a difference in acceleration after tightening up the coupler (no collet heating up or smoke this time around). The first two minutes I run her on the 52mm prop and the other two on the 59mm prop to see the difference. Temp was on the high 90's hitting the low 100's. This time the props were biting well. I did like the 59mm better but I would like to try a 2 blade Octura to see how the acceleration reacts. I finally was able to have some fun with her today. As soon as the money pit recovers I'll get a Voltron GPS to find out how fast she's going.

The data looks better, but one of two things are occuring; You are not pulling full throttle or your esc is not calibrated correctly. The motor power out should be much closer to 100%.

Here are detailed views of the data. Graph on the left is the 52mm and graph on the right is 59mm.

                                Tyler,

You are correct, I am not pulling full throtle because the pond is too small. I was able to comfortably run my Revolt30 and Blackjack29 on my community pond but this boat goes so fast that the length of the pond doesn't allow me to open it up full throtle. I would say I was able to go close to 3/4" throtle at some point.
