B55 OM29 repaint !!

I'm having tons of fun racing at NAMBA20
this is my first year and what a hoot!!
so in the PSpec Mono class I race one of Randy's OM29 hulls with UL-1 power and a Grim 4255
took a few races to get it locked in and now if ripps
this is my OM29 at the last race on Aug 26th
placed first in the first and second heat, then flipped on turn 4 on the 6th lap
so it needs new paint

OK, sand with 120, then with 200, then with around 400. Wipe clean with thinner, let dry. NO fingers touching the clean raw surface, the oil from your skin can make fisheyes. Light coat first, wait 5 min, then heavier coat. Go up and down the length of the hull from about 6 inches away and overlap the last pass.

got it striped down, and some sanding..

Also with the help of Joe of JRS I found a split in the whole left side of the hull, where the top and bottom come together..
lots of CA and its looking great

Ahhhh!
had a little run in with over spray on paper while painting the bottom of the hull...
hard to get off but with more sanding and reprime I'll get that sucker done

Hey Todd, I usually apply a thin pinstripe around the windshield to really set it off.

Very nice!!! after doing the pinstripe around the windsheild i like to use a Permonent marker like a sharpie and put little dots on the pinstripe all the way around the windsheild then clear over it,,,makes it look like its bolted on!!!!

Yep.................very nice. I guess you are happy with the Rustoleum product, you did a nice job on it, now it will run better!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

take a closer look at the shadowing in the pictures...
notice how your really cant see any paint lines
I put on 3 coats of clear
