Being the newbee to this end of rcing I am always open to suggestions. I also have what my inlaws call thick skin, not too much rattles me.So feel free to fire any suggestions my wayJust a kid trapped in my battered and fully tested middle aged body Next would be some way to make a mechanical arm to grab downed boat Now have found a 6 chanel remote to work with !

Copper will work for sure, plus it bends fairly easy, but remember that cooling isn't there to make an improper setup work. Cooling in Rc boating is an added feature.

Ya I know...but Im the guy that has to try it...I have an idea for the wrapping of the motor that might be a new break thru....lol....plus I no longer use brushed motors in my cars....all brushless now, and i have around 50 brushed motors hanging around doin nothing so if I burn a few up no biggie. You only live once and cant take it with you when you go, all im leavin my kids is my bills...lol

We use a 27t brushed motor with a 2s lipo and a Traxxas car esc in our rescue boat/tug. Tons of power, moves fairly quick and runs ice cold with no water cooling. Been using it for 2 seasons and it gets a workout, plus sometimes we just use it for fun running (letting young kids try driving an rc boat).

Dereck, Mark is using a more appropriate motor, the 27t................more than twice the turns of your projected 13t motor.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

this is why I ask I have 20 25 27t motors I will put one of those in for the begining, but as I always do ,i will end up tryin a faster motor in the long run...lol...just being me Always have to try what said not to be doneLike I said before I have a crap load of brushed motors. Tried to sell them a few months ago and no one wanted them, so I might aswell experiment with them

A motor that you had laying around burning up isn't that big of a deal. But if that motor takes out the esc and/or battery could be a bigger deal. And worse case is the boat burns up or ends up on the bottom.
Just something to think about, alot of guys here have been there, done that and learned that lesson.
Boats are so different than cars. When a car starts smoking just run over to it. Nothing worse then standing helplessly on shore watching a smoking boat. Like I said been there and done that too. lol
Don't get me wrong nothing wrong with trying something different or that people say can't be done, just be prepared for what could happen.

So here is the motor mount. Its from an old mrc street car I used to have. Just had to give it a couple wacks with a hammer to give it the propper angle I was looking for. And the cooling coil set up will allow me to change out motors for more experimenting11.jpg12.jpg
