    Heath,
Thanks for the info, I got this one because it is what Steven has listed as recomended hardware for this hull. The next size up is 6.25'' . That would put 3.75'' of the rudder in the water. Is that too much? Right now I only have 1.5'' in the water.

I don't know Heath, I built one for a club member that will go where ever he points it. One difference is I cut 1" off of the stinger which puts the drive dog even with the leading edge of the rudder.
        The boat is powered with a 1515 1Y on 4s2p and a 640.

It could be that if your running a big wheel that you'll need more rudder on that hull. IME If your rudder is 1" longer than the prop with it positioned straight up and down, you should be in good shape.

          Hi Doug
i run that rudder on my 29 and it's brilliant, if not too good, i have to turn the trim right down so it doesn't hook..i also cut 25mm off the strut
Both Paul Packmeyer and Steve Reesor have said to use the longer one on the 33.. guess i'll find out in a couple of weeks when mines done :)

I had been looking at that debating whether or not I should cut it down. Right now the drive dog is even with the trailing edge of the rudder. I could take off 3/4'' if that would improve the handling. I had the same length rudder on my 29'' titan with no handling issues but the leading edge was even with the drive dog.

Why dont you try making a plateform to push the rudder out a little bitt before you cut the strut up.

I understand Heith and would be one of the last to argue with Paul and Steve, I was just expressing what my experience has been with that hull and hardware combo. Good luck with your build.

Again from what I have seen we are running small props on our P monos compared to most folks. There in probably lies the difference.

                knpc,
I would run the boat as it is and go from there. You may be happy with what you have!

Thats a good idea to extend the rudder. It would be easier to make a piece of alum and longer steering linkage than it would be to cut the stinger and flex cable.
And your way is reversable. I will prob test it as is in a week or so when its done and go from there. This is great information to have when I do make adjustments.

                    Doug's right,
Run it as is and see how it goes, then decide if you need to make changes or not :)
I think you maybe able to buy a rudder bracket extension!!! I think Propperchopper on RR bought one, but don't quote me on this

My Delta Force 33 is just about done, only needs some final adjustments on the hardware. I plan on running it this weekend and let you know how it goes. I may even be able to convince my wife to take some video.
                      Thanks for all the help

I took it out for the first time earlier today but it was too windy to open it up. It did handle the chop good though. I hope to take it out later in the week and will post how it goes.

any updates on this rig? what size strut and flex shaft are you running?
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

It has a 3/16 strut and a .150 flex cable. The ran boat good but I don't think the 9xl is enough motor for this hull. I plan to put a neu motor in soon. I've tried adjusting everything and can't get it dry. Hopefully a more powerful motor is what it needs to run dry and keep the temps down.
