    FC Cheetah Twin

Well here's my take on a Cheetah twin drive for running in the P-Twin Drive class at our club. I'll be using CC 2200's, HV120 ICE2's waterproofed/watercooled, with cut down FC 110mm stingers, Hughey flex and .60 Seedmaster center mount dual pickup rudder.

I started laying the boat out for balance. The cats I've built seem to like 30 - 35% CG or around 11"
I'll start with that. I hope it passes inspection...

Nice cat Brian, lol. I want one of these in the future, they handle so well, did you do the CF or do they come that way, I was looking at the hull on FC site, it said it came with CF, can't wait to get the DF36 cat you sold me. Do you have some paint picked out for it? Shawn.

No paint idea yet...maybe green apple metallic white and black The CF comes in the boat but not the lid. I ordered some matching CF from FC.

Instead of cutting a nice set of 110mm stingers, I have a pair of TFL stingers that will do the trick with a little filing at the top of the mount plate.

Those seem to fit Brian.I think there are other options for a shorter stinger as well. Those ones will have a good strong base.

Yea they should work good. I'm working on some stuffing tubes now. I'm going to mount them as close as I can get them to the transoms, 3" motor to transom is what I'm looking for. That will be tight but will allow for larger motors if I want to run 6s. Also room for battery adjustment.

Airplane vs car version? I would call castle to see what they say about running them in a twin application.

My next build; can you give more info on the tfl drives? I.e. where to get em? I know what you mean, cutting into beautiful machined hardware is not easy!

May I please spam or hijack your thread for a nearly on topic question?

What is the largest motor to fit under canopy? Single drive? will a 5682 fit? It's for a buddy.

Sorry Kong, just came in my head to ask...

Thats okay Ray, I put a 5682 under the hood to see and WOW... it fits unbelievably, looks like a go-cart with a V8 in it. I'd say you could get a 5692 in there, but a 1717 would do the trick.

100_8269.jpg100_8270.jpg Taking on the motor mounts...CF or aluminum hmmm.... well I'd have to take a day and make some sheet CF so aluminum it is. I started measuring and sketching out a cardboard pattern. I'm making a race boat not a shelf queen, so I'm not going to fool around spending a 100 hrs or so on how the interior of my boat looks.
