Tried all that plus more. It still hops like crazy. I installed trim tabs and it helped a lot. I am going to try an X637 because I am getting some good prop walk. I don't know what changed from the last time I drove it before I painted it.

Did you paint the bottom? Is is ultra smooth? If so, scuff it up a bit with 150-200 grit.

I did paint the bottom, Ill hit it with some sand paper. I also just checked my cg, turns out it my marks were far forward. I have it set right about 29%. Ill give it a try and see what happens. I noticed the hull was running wet, the front of the hull was hitting water. I should see about 1/3 of the hull in the water from the stern.

Ok, so now you're at 29%? What was it at? If its too far forward its running wet and will get real squirelly.

It was set closer to 33%. I think it was hopping because it was to bow heavy Ill give it a shot and reset my trim tabs to neutral and see what I get, thanks for making me double check my cg! lol

Ok I put the trim tabs up and put the x637 on and it runs soooooo much better, still just a bit front heavy. I think I am going to take the trim tabs off bc I think they are still touching the water. 80.31 amps, 46.0 mph, now thats more like it!

ahhhh i love these boats! my set up is a sidewinder 4600kv on 2s and an X438 prop. I found 2.2mah 2s packs and run them in parallel. not much room in this little guy.
here is a vid of mine watch out for wipe out in last minute...

lets see the paint job and I am also interested to see where you put the strut; sometimes if it is too low it is difficult to calm the hopping without adding some weight.
                any build update photos?

Jesse, funny you chime in here. I was looking at your build some time ago and decided to build one. I have the strut as low as it goes right now (I am running a flooded stuffing tube). Did yours need trim tabs? I think I could take mine off now that I realize the cg was way forward. It runs better now. I do have a problem with it hopping if I don't give it just a little right rudder. I also have shims on the two right screws for the strut to kick the prop to the left to counter act prop walk. Any input would be a big help since your the one that started this project...

Nice looking boat Rich.................having the Strut all the way down is causing your problems too. Move it up to at least dead center of the tube.

So your saying putting the hull in the water more by moving the strut up will solve my problems? Which problems exactly? I will lose speed if I do that right?

It'll get the Butt down and nose up by raising the strut..................

agree, if I had remembered you did flood chamber I would have said to raise the strut.
the prop lifts the back end so if you raise the strut, you decrease the lift in the back and plant it as Carl said.
you are using a large prop so that means lots of rear end lift.
I would raise as much as possible then lower until you reach your desired ride attitude.
I don't think I use the trim tabs unless its really windy - even then probably not much.
good work, glad to be of inspiration!!

                            video?

An X637 is too large a prop? I did have the X640 on it and it seems to be better with the smaller prop. As for the video I'll have to get back to you on the one I don't have a video camera but my brother does so ill have to get him to take one. Ill give the adjustments a try tomorrow and get back to you
