So I now have a Leopard 5692 1090kv coming with a 6mm shaft as I saved a bit of money on it. Not as much as if I had bought a HK motor but not too worried as I prefer Y wind to D.
Are the bearings in this motor ok?? - as I remember there was a long thread like a year ago about the need to replace with Boca bearings instead.

Jan at Kintec has just sent out all my remaining bits and bobs. The hull of the boat can be painted at the first sign of sun, but the hatch still needs work....
At least once it's painted I can get the hardware mounted

Boat hull has finally been painted. I got some nice weather today and took it outside on the decking.
Went on nicely and I like the colour.

Here it is after the first coat: DSC_2290.jpg

and here is the boat with a 2nd coat which is still wet in the pic: DSC_2293.jpg

Hatch will have to be done another day as the sky has clouded over now but at least I can get my hardware mounted.

I actually bought some Ford Bright Blue as I was thinking of pinstripes. How do you do the pin stripes? Got any good patterns?

          Thanks

How many tins of gloss did you use on a 41" hull.

I just like simple and "clean" really..................i usually do a double stripe down the side using car pinstriping.

On my latest I added a design to the front hull deck......................

I got the double concentrate stuff. Only one so far to cover the boat twice. The hatch still needs doing and the other tin is nearly fun.
The coverage on the double concentrate hycote paint is much much better than the standard.

So I was looking at the mystery prop again

Here it is next to a M645. DSC_2295.jpgDSC_2296.jpg

Comparing the 2 the, the 52mm mystery ??
                    Looks big anyway
What do you think would be the max size prop I could run with the 5692 1090kv motor?

I'm thinking ahead for a bit. Should I make 8mm to 5.5mm parallel connectors or should I solder an extra bit of wire directly on and split it 2 ways.

Also does anyone know what brand of 8mm connectors Fightercat uses on his escs?

Just had another look at the esc and the connectors are 6.5mm.... they are soldered directly onto the esc. Can't believe it on a 16s HV 200amp esc

Would it be best to replace them with 8mm or just get the 6.5mm to match? I'm not too sure about the 6.5s.....

no, just solder jumpers direct. 6.5mm is plenty of surface area to keep the juice flowing.

A 60mm prop should be doable.

Yeah they are a weird size. Hard to measure too hence my mistake. I can get 6mm bullets to go on the motor wires? What is the reason for the made up jumper connectors?
