The one thing that was missing from my fleet of go-faster boats was a Jersey Skiff. I used to watch them race on the bay right next to my High School football field ( Long Beach, N.Y.) in the 1950's, and thought "one day".....When I found out Aeromarine was coming out with an FE friendly 32" hull, I called Remy, and here she is .
To begin with, she'll be rigged as a spec racer with an AQ 1800 motor - Pat in AZ is building one and some Fla & SE guys may also be in the mix. The idea was not to be an official scale-specific class, so the decision among some of us was to have an underhull shaft extending no more than 2 1/2" past the transom. Same for the hardware.
The first thing that had to be addressed was access to the motor mount so that motors could go in and out without exhausting one's vocabulary of obscene proverbs. ( Later plans include full P-Power so switching motors had to be simple).
I fabbed a quick-change motor mount out of Al angle and plate using an Insane FE30 motor mount permanently attached to the plate. The plate threads into the permanently attached rail pieces with four easy-access cap screws. Bingo !!
