Im not sure on the prop nut but i use the crushed nuts cuz they bite down on the threads when you tighten them,, as for your vibration what kind of motor coupler are you using, i ve seen the ones with set screws pull the shaft to the side when you tighten them up, i would start there and work your way down the flexshaft to the prop looking for anything throwing it off,, maybe your flex is bent, i got an aeromarine brand new .187 flex that was solderd in crooket so no good,,

I always use lock nuts for my props, but the prop should be turning the opposite direction that the nut tightens, prop turns counter-clockwise, nut turns on clockwise which should, in a sense, tighten the prop as it runs so to speak. I feel your pain about the vibration tho, when i built that Dumas mono in my avatar, i have a vibration that i've never figured out. I've tried different couplers, shafts, props and still has a vibration. I think, since it's a Fagio motor, maybe the motor shaft is slightly undersize so when the coupler is tightened up it's off just a little bit. In your case, i'm wondering if it's just becuase there is no load on the shaft while running on the bench, maybe the vibration would go away when it's run in the water??

Regreased the flex and dipped in auto oil and the vibration has gone. Also where I put some silicone hose over the stuffing tube/flex it was squealing and smoking! So I removed it!

Maiden voyage today and couldn't be more impressed! Setup seems pretty spot on and given a big of chop and lack of balls on my part to open it up I thought it handled really well and seemed to cut through the chop well.

My cooling mod works great and I get tons of water spraying out of both outlets and after my first run the motor/esc were as if it hadn't been run.
