Thanks guy's, "go the Bombers" Essendon AFL Club. I just sprayed the first few coats of metallic gunmetal tonight and I seem to have a bit of surface bubbling on the bottom of the hull so I'll wait a few days, rub it back and give it a few more heavier coats.

here's a couple progress pic's BC (before clear), it's taken longer as I've had to sand it back and respray it after taping it up a little too soon and it caused upwanted blemishes in the red paint. I'm going to wait another day then give it a light 1200 grit sand followed by a few clear coats, 1200g rub back then decal's and a few more coats of clear. After another day or so after all this I'll put the hardware on and present it to the father of Essendons leading goal kicker and see if he can get the team to autograph it. I'm a little unsure but I'm thinking that if I give the hull a light 1200g rub before they sign it, I'll be able to preserve the autographs by giving it a few more clear coats over the top.

I never did care for the pirate hull until a friend bought one , wow what a huge upgrade from the standard DF35 hull or until I saw the hull in person or up close I appreciated the build and design quality . My DF35 was a piece of crap compared to this hull . I will be building a Pirate with a Lehner 2280/7 or about the equivalent to the 1530 Neu when I get my Pirate hull .

Millzee great choice in hulls and awesome job on this hull

I too have a DF35" with a 1717 that seems to be pretty unstable so far(but only two runs). You think the Pirate is that much more stable? And why?Just looking for some insight here.
Where was the CG at with the 1717 Millzee?

I had the cog at around 29% with the 1717 but I had it way overweight. Here's a thread I'd like to use as my parts list for this build, everythings in here http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...to-think-about.

I've got the decals on and plenty of clear coat and I'm leaving it for a few hays before I buff and polish it, I've had to start working pretty hard on it to try and get it finished, the team's going to be in in town next Monday so I've kinda left work and family commitments until next week, I got real lucky here because my missus is ok with it for a change. I decided to make a start on the hardware so it'll be ready to go on once the paints hardened a little more. In order to fit the trim tabs and still be to center them I've made a little change to the rudder and then spent probably 18 of the last 27 hours with the dremel, some autosol metal polish and tolorence, I still need to do the trim tabs but I'm happy enough, here's a few snaps.
