People who realize this should also realize why getting something like a Raptor Hydro, or Dark Horse, etc., from Brian, isn't "cheap" to do... Having gone through a much smaller version of the process now myself, it's NOT trivial to bring something like this to market.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Well... it's a little nerve-racking, but I had to paint it, so here it goes. Took notes on where everything was setup, and then removed the outdrive, taped everything up, and went in.
After putting a light primer coat on the ride surfaces to seal down the blue-printing work I did (filler, etc.), I masked off the ride pads to make sure I didn't get any further build-up. Boat handles really well... don't want to have to go through sanding it all back down again.
The cowl took a little bit of extra work, but after getting it filled and sanded and primered and sanded again, it came out nice and smooth.
First coat down is a "Pearlized White" base coat. AutoAir colors, so water based and really nice to paint. This time, I got it on nice and smooth and even and it turned out very nice. Once this cures, I'll mask off and apply the orange color to the sponson tops and cowl top. Then clear, of course.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Jeff... CERTAINLY! I guess I should have thought about that sooner! If you can get that to me, that would be great. Sure would make this look nicer than one I'd do by hand...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Put down the color yesterday. Only have one picture available here right now, of the tack coat, but I have the color done and the masking removed... This thing looks AMAZING! I can't WAIT to get the clear on!!! It's really going to look sharp!Attached FilesDarin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Finished up the clear today. Was a beautiful afternoon, so I was able to shoot it outside and it cured in the mid-70's sunshine. Tape is all off and I'll get the hardware remounted tomorrow and put the decals on.Attached FilesDarin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Here is another shot from inside the garage. I think this may be the nicest finish I've ever put on a boat to date. Should have this one buttoned up by Thursday.Attached FilesDarin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

All Finished! Well... I need to put on a water jacket for the motor, but otherwise, she's ready to go!
Tried to keep the application of decals simple and clean.
Also gave a little shout out to JRS Innovations and their awesome boat stands! Sure is a nice finishing tough!Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Jerry Dunlap snapped a GREAT picture of the Lynx at full-song at the last NAMBA D8 Race in Eugene, OR... Boat went on to run a 6-Lap heat racing time of 1:36, followed up by a 1:33 in the final heat. Unfortunately, the course only had 65' diameter corners instead of the required 70' (Official course required 35' radius, and this was set at 32.5'), so we couldn't apply for an official record... Current record is 1:46 I believe.Attached FilesDarin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Hey Guys...
We had a record eligable Heat Racing course setup this weekend at Lake Waughop in Lakewood, Washington at the Puget Sound Model Boat Club hosted NAMBA District 8 race.
Several competition records were set, amongst them a new 3.5 Hydro record, as well as a new P-Limited Hydro record, both set by Brian Buass using his Raptory Hydros... Amazing times... of 1:07.xx with his 3.5, and 1:11.xx with his P-Limited. Fun to watch!
I was able to set a new P-Limited OPC Tunnel record with my Lynx of 1:31.33! Ran that in heat 1. Was going for 1:29.xx in heat 2, but ended up upside down when a boat flipped on the course and I overcorrected. Decided to back down slightly to finish/win heats the remaining 2, and won both of those with a 1:33.xx time in each.
I'm thinking I need to try to get the fast prop dialed in and see what this boat can really do...Attached FilesDarin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

So what is your excuse for not coming to the Nats this year????Looks like you have a boat to race and that class was dropped because of non attendance. You too Tony, what is up? Sorry for the hijack in advance.
