    Jolly Cat Refit

Yeah I know I havent finished the Rio yet. With the esc blowing in the hull I opted for some changes. It's not going to be a quick process. I'm still mulling a few things over. Anyhoo it's all cleand up. Just have a few more stickers to remove. Oh yeah & I ordered the replacment esc tonight. It will be here friday.

What are the details of the esc blowing? What ESC and Motor did you have in yours?

Hey SJFE , rip out that single motor mount and shaft and treat that beautiful boat to twin motors and drives !!!!!
Its the only way to go.
Twice the hassle but twice the fun.

Sorry man No can do. I will leave her as she was intended. If I come into some money I'll just buy a twin. I know i'd mess it up in the process.

My rotor arived today. Great work by Peter Z. Just by chance I happeded to finish the esc today. The mold popped off the esc in a snap. I sanded it down a bit. All thats left is the cooling plates. I am going to make a better fitting one for the next esc. I'll be testing on Sunday.

150 grams and change. I'll shave it down more today.

I dont think the weight will be a big issue in that hull.

I was always told a non-porous surface does not dissapate heat. However a wet esc does not create a happy SJFE!!!!

Have you guy's tried MG chemicals Conformal Spray Coating??

I have used a spray by MG chemicals,,, It is a conformal coating for vibration and water resistance,, much like the stuff Castle uses to waterproof thier esc's... I really like it, because it is easy to use, dries in 2-4 min.., and I have gotten a couple of these GX-200A esc's wet, and had no problems at all!!!

All I do is open it up from stock,, spray it with MG,, build a watercooling plate from K&S brass tube and plate,, then re-heat shrink it....

Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

I like SJFE's idea of total encapsulation... Reminds me of SV27 esc's and Kontronics Power-Jazz....

I cant wait to hear some feedback on how they perform.... Any testing SJFE???

I am testing today but the Jolly s not ready. Just the little twin cat. The DP270 is a heat transfering epoxy with some good exotherm ratings. When I was sanding the bottom the entire block heated up pretty evenly. I should have it ready and tested by the middle of the week. Just waiting on the 70K Boca bearings for the KB.
