I'll level with you. In all honesty I would say save up some money and buy one that is already built, for many reasons. You have to understand the relationships between hulls, motors, propellers, and batteries if you are going to succeed in building your first boat. I think you may see more smoke than glory with all of the different battery and motor choices you are selecting. Who ever suggested an SV27 was trying to steer you away from an expensive endeavor and point to something you will enjoy more. The boat runs great out of the box and you wont blow up motors, esc's, and batteries therefore being the cheaper choice overall.

Get your feet wet with a SV-27. It will keep you entertained for a long time and can be upgraded easily if you want to .

its just i dont have that much money so i thought i could make one for less but if you guys think that it would be better in the long run then i will try and find a cheap one but i can only find them for like £170 and i only have £120 in my bank. and than i have to get batterys.

Good Choices. Don't count out the Mini-C Catamaran.

are you looking at new or used? Try to look for a used one that may have a few extras thrown into the deal, like batteries etc. Oh yeah, it is worth it saving your money for one.

ya know, if I had know about them earlier my 1st boat would prolly have been a 'vac-u-cracker' (from www.vac-u-boat.com ). given todays economy overseas customers could save a good bit of money...$100 usd for a 'complete kit'(you supply radio system, esc & motor(and batteries), adhesive, and paint.

you're welcome. for the record my 1st race boat was an electrified . I've heard a number of folks commenting on the various 'boats' they offer...nothing but good comments, and the instructions are written with the novice builder in mind! oh some folks might use different hwd etc. do wonder if they'll ever get the gator in production

Yeh the hammer is lots of fun, very stable, I bought an aquajet on ebay for pretty cheap already upgraded, but also had bought a hammer on ebay for like 30 dollars.
But got bored with it cause my aquajet was way faster. But you can upgrade a hammer, here is what I am doing with mine with parts had laying around, maybe it works maybe not but it will be fun trying.

I need to do some adjusting, cutting, painting and so on but the drive seems to work fine. Very little binding if any so I must have gotten it close.
