Man you got alot done today. Looks great so far.
Your balance might be better then you think with 2-4s 5000mha batteries.
Are you going to put foam in the sponsons and hull side before you close up the acess holes?
I agree with Rum, I love this boat.

Wham, Bam, Done. That's how I roll lately. There might be a little "fast freddy" blood in me afterall. I think you're right.....the heavy batts might help me out.

Thanks Mike. It's a Grim fin. It looks a little different than the original UL-1 fin though. Perhaps thicker? I'll have to compare them. The mount side of the bracket is a little weak (2 holes), but the aluminum in the sponson helps out a lot. When I get some time, I'll make a much stronger bracket with (4) holes.

Mark - What paint did you use? Any peeling from taping? Thanks.

Shooter my brother-in-law painted the hull for me. It's a automotive base coat, clear coat. I think I have the can in the shop for touch ups. I can let you know what brand as soon as I head out there and check. He ordered everything and all I did was pay for it. The paint cost me more then the hull. Never had any issue with tape but I let the clear set for a couple weeks before I used tape on it.
Which Grim fin are you using? I have the black upgraded one and it is a little thicker then the stock UL-1 fin. Mine has held up fine but I think Rum used a different Grim fin and it bent on him. You'd have to seach his build thread and see. Kintec has a nice heavier fin mounting bracket with 3 bolts that I used.
Nice to see more guys starting to build these hulls.

Mark - I figured that paint job was professional. Looks great! I sanded mine down Sunday and gave her (4) light coats of epoxy paint.

Cleaning the workshop and came across some old plastic spark plug wire partitions. I added them to the motor wires. If anyone has had solder melt when running, then you'll realize the benefit! Hopefully this will keep everything separate if that were to happen. Also cleans up the water lines.

OK. She's starting to take shape..... I'm going to name her "sEa-InG pRoBleMs". Came up with this idea when Freddy (old-n-fat) ran his boat directly into the dock (without even letting off the throttle). It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I think this is by far my personal record for finishing a boat from start to finish. It's literally only been a few days. It's gonna need more paint eventually, but I can't recoat for another (5) days and I want to run it this weekend. Thanks to the wife for letting me have the time to finish this!!!!

Your not kidding about a fast build. It took me 2 months to get mine in the water.
That's a great idea about the spark plug wire looms. Might have to use that on some of my boats if you don't mind.
I have always ran mine on 2 2s batteries. Tried 2 4s batteries on Sunday and even though my COG was still in the same spot she wanted to hop real bad in the turn. At our pond when you come around the one turn your headed straight at the dock. It started to hop and headed straight towards the dock, shut her down and she stopped a few feet from the dock. WAY to close for me. Next week back to my 2 2s setup.
Looks great, now get some video.

I think you could sell those alignment tools! Make in several different sizes and let Steven at OSE know about them!

Mike - It's just ACE brand epoxy paint. Nothing special. I may end up finishing it up (wetsand, more coats, and buffing wheel) later, but for now it is what it is. I'll bring it Wednesday.

sailr - Not a bad idea. I'll let Steven know. Maybe he could have a large qty machined up and start selling them. Seems to work pretty well.

FF - See you later tonight to pick up the rudder.
