    Hi JC ,

Thanks for kind words mate , i feel iv'e just been lucky with project " JPS " in the way that is turning out , though i am only half way through the build . i wanted to build an element of history , fun & something that was a new way of looking at our hobby as I feel there is a level of " follow the leader " at the moment with R/C boat trends , there is so much design in the way of paint schemes in the world that should be rediscovered in our shared exciting form of R/C Boating .....

Your tunnel that you are building should be lot of fun , if you require some decals made up to complete the scheme your considering , just follow the link i posted earlier in this thread & you will find Lisa is great to work with , as i emailed her around 20 times during the process of making " JPS " come to life visually .....

P.S - I will be posting more pictures soon , with the pinstriping iv'e completed ......

All the best in F/E R/C Boating ,
    Brad

See http://www.intlwaters.com/index.php?showtopic=46440 for the power plant I used on a similar 6S tunnel. Run a smaller prop than the 1450 I ran for an easier to handle boat.

Thanks for the information regarding power plant , i will be setting up as a 6S sport runnner initially to gain some experience with running an outboard . where Andym & i run is a lake that is surrounded by a cement kerb , so i will wait until i take this project Sydneys MBCOFNSW before i eventually launch .

          Hi Guy's ,

Took some pictures of pin striping this afternoon , still got to complete paintwork in other ways , such as paint orange triangle where i will place safety loop as required in Australia for racing .....

              Hi Guy's N Gal's ,

I have made some more progress over the last few weeks including bulding an O/B Pod on the back of hull , where i have attached the " Speed - Drive " Lower Leg . The Speed - Drive is made in Bang Kok Thailand , where it is raced with similar hulls such as this , though power set - up is a bit more powerful as they race similar hulls with 7S Lipo's & BL Motor can size of over 60mm according to Narade who manufactures these units & races his product . With this build i was aiming to bring back a level of fun , history & a boat that is not following market trends & i feel i am achieving this so far . It's good to bring history to life & this build being 6S powered it should do that dramatically ......

Hope you enjoy the pictures that i have taken , they show where i am up to in the build process . As i am not planning on launching until mid 2012 , i have had a few set - ups in mind , which included running 4S for a time . Though i will stay the course , & build it as a 6S Raceboat as i feel the weight of it would be more suited to 6S set up .....

Currently i have a Keda 40-74-1340 attached to boat & plan on buying a T180 ESC & jury is still out on Props , which i may go for the X642-8 range - so your thoughts would be appreciated in that regard ...

                Latest Progress

                Hi Guy"s ,

Been busy with Xmas , so good to have a young family at this Time of year which includes two boys aged 7 & 3 & my dear daughter aged 2 , to share this magical time , with my Beautiful Wife Natasha to whom I am forever greatful , for giving me the awesome gift of parenthood which is demanding though rewarding , i am eternally indebted - LOVYA HONEY- BUNNEY !!! .

Have made progress on Project JPS , which includes seperate intakes for cooling BL Motor & ESC ( see pics ) , just waiting on yellow cooling line to really make the hosing look complete . It is one of the first lessons you learn in Electrics , is that Water & Electronics don"t mix , therefore I have built a cooling outlet on the left hand side & cut off feature on the right hand side , with that in mind I would rather look at water coming from outlet while the boat is racing , to ensure ESC is being cooled effectively . Also have given the hull three layers of clear coat which has given the matt black a deep lustre !!!
Been concerned as to what Prop would be most suited for this project , thanks to Make a Wake & other knowledgable members ( Thanks Guys ) , I now know what type & size prop range is required ...

Hope you all had a great festive season , no matter where in the World you celebrated & all the best for 2012 .....

Looks great, good job! I too have to make a safety loop if I want to run this year. Never done one before. Can you post some pics of the loop so I have a basic idea. M445 - X642 starting prop. Go up from there

                    Hi Drax ,

If you check previous post that I have made on this thread , you can gain a visual of the top side . also , check out threads on OSE.COM regarding safety loops .

In short , it's much like fitting an ESC into your electrical set up . Once you have soldered cut - off plug , drill hole into surface you want device to attached to & use F/G Resin to permanently hold in place. ( No Biggy ) , PM me if you need further assistance. ...

                          Hi Guy's ,

Fired up my project boat yesterday using a 4S battery , as I require new batts of 6S Voltage . Can report the Keda 40/74/1340kv that I bought off OSE.COM has no fault thus far . It's good to finally get the motor spinning using " Lipo - Power " , after 8 months of slow build time !!!!! .....

                                Hi Drax ,

I need a video too mate ( lol ) , actually Johnny Walker Red would be better ( lol ) . As you know I am sending my boat to Oulton Broad in England to be apart of an exhibition on Bob Spalding's racing career . During the time it's there it is also to operated on the water of Oulton Broad so I am sure video & pictures will be taken for me at that time around May ( your Spring time ) . It's a shame you are not living in the East Anglia region Drax , as Roy Cooper is seeking a competent driver for its time on water. ....
