Any vid on this yet? I have the same hull which I am looking to finish but I was curious to see what kind of power the hull would handle and what kind of speed. I was intending on using a 4082 on 6s.

I ran mine with a 1521 1.5D on 4s, speeds in the low 50's with a x452/3. I think he sold his sprintcat, could be wrong though.

Thankyou, Wow that was fast I wonder why he sold it the boat looked great.I was hoping for a set up in the mid 60's not sure if the hull will handle it though

I ran mine with a Neu 1527/1Y (1250 Kv) on 6S2P. Speeds are low 60s with the right prop (pitched up x455) and setup. The hull handles the speed fine as long as the water isn't too rough - I raced mine in some pretty bad race water and won a lot of Q Hydro events. You will need strong hardware and a long rudder.

Jay, is that the .20/.40 this thread is about, or the bigger .40/.80? 12 cells seems rather a lot for a 29" boat.

Ack, you're right, it is about the 29" hull, not the 34" hull, sorry. The smaller hull is really overpowered with 6S and the large Leopard, but if the poster is willing to wait for smooth water it does run in the 60s. I put a 1521/1D in mine as a lark and ran 61+ mph, but the hull was not that stable on a ripple.

So do you think the 4074 on 5s is a better fit in the 29" hull if so what kv?

I love Sprintcats too, I always ran them in my past nitro life. Talked to Remey Jr. when I bought my Mean Machine and he told me the the Sprintcat amd the Mean Machine were the same hull, just different deck and hatch of course. Since I was building my first electric and had no one to compare with I decided that I should stick with the Mean Machine for easier fit of batteries, etc. Can't wait to see the video on this one!

I would lean towards the 2000kv instead of 2200kv if you're going to run 5s, gives you a bit more room with prop selection.

Thankyou for all the imput, I thought the sprint cat would have handled a bit more power then my titan 29 even though the length is the same being a cat style hull it would be a more stable then a mono hull maybe its time for larger hull

5S on 2200 kv would give too much rpm (almost 42k unloaded)
2000 would be a better one to go with

It will be more stable in the corners, but a mono/v will typically cut through rough water better.

I would put money on the sprint cat being a few mph faster on the same power too.

At 1800 kv, my cat was plenty fast. Plus the 1518 is a beast and will spin good size props.
The most important thing I can tell you about this cat, is to be sure you have the possibility to adjust the strut above the sponsons at least 1/4".
