Of what you have, i bet the x450 will perform best..................just one mans opinion

I dont have an x450, but i would like to get one and an x452 for that matter, i saw your 40" build with the 1717 and x450 hit 60 (sweet boat i must say), and that your esc was at its absolute limit, but do remember i have the 240hv esc and my boats only 35" and its a rather shallow deep v so i would have to assume automatically its gonna draw less amps than yours wouldn't you agree?? On another note I happen to believe that the T180 esc would actually be faster than the sf240hv on the same setup, i wish i hadn't sold my T180 just a few days ago or i would test it, but i do believe that the T180's do a better job of transferring the power to the motor than the sf240.

Oh.......thought you had an x450-452.............misread i guess. Yeah I call my Mono "Vader"........all black and sinister looking. I threw an x450 on in a quest to hit 60, now i'm runnin' with an m445 as water temps have risen and the T180 thermaled on me a couple times............still hits 55, I'm cool with it as its a zero problem, plug and play boat.

If you get an x450/452, throw an x548 in your order.........bet you like it!

i will do that, i guess i need to make an order here pretty quickly! Still want to get the boat handling better though, she's too loose.

Doesnt look bad in the vid..........maybe the batts could go forward a half inch.

BTW, that vid is the cleanest, crispest vid i have ever seen................what the heck kinda camera took that?

LOL, actually its a total pos camera, man this thing eats AA batteries faster than you could imagine!! Its just a kodak easyshare c503, not like i'm a photographer just reading what it says on the casing! lol

In the video its an x645, i couldn't get a gps signal at that little pond, cell phones dont work there either. I can definatley say that it was faster today on the x646/3 than that video.

Now as far as handling goes and speedwise, what effect would lower the stinger do?? Obviously it will bring the nose down, which i think it needs to do to be more stable.

If you bring the stinger down(neg), you will most likely get the lurching, pogo deal going(happened with Vader).......... a bit of positive is what they usually like believe it or not, and move the batts forward if the nose is up too much or its running loose.

Keep moving the batts forward if its still running too loose. Im really surprised it doesnt corner well. What does it do? Does it just roll over, or does it start to hop and then crash?

Its actually cornering a lot better now, i angled the turn fins down in to the water more, however because i had a nasty crash (in that video) while trying to corner fast i'm a little scared to carve a hard hairpin high speed turn, especially since my means of rescue today were not very good, lol. Pretty soon here i'll be mostly running while out in my real boat, so then i'll be just "given'er" !! It will corner a 10 foot turn like nothing, i just remember my 33 could could turn literally on a dime without rolling, it would dig in and almost come to a stop, but still it was stable, if i hairpinned this at full speed, it lifted and barrel rolled! Also in that video i had my stinger angled slightly positive. I guess next run i will move the batts as far forward as i can.

its definatley getting closer and closer to dialed every run, this is a good learning curve for me, so i'm taking it as a positive thing as it will help me be able to dial in future builds. I think the main concern i have now is to get it to stop hopping, it seems when i'm wide open and i it just the small waves that i left behind from the last pass that it really gets to hopping where i know it should be eating it up better.

Josh awesome job so far my friend .

What CG have you settled on . I find on my Sniper which is just a larger version of the DF35 that running a little on the wet side and a CG of 31.5% seems to be a good all around setup .

Peter, I've yet to settle on the CG, i think thats probably the last thing i need to dial it in just right! From my runs i would definatley have to agree that running wetter will benefit this hull, I started at 29% and it was loose as a goose, i've moved forward some, haven't bothered to check exact % but i would estimate its closer to 31% now and going to need to go further forward still. I am going to make stop at home depot tomorrow and make a CG stand specific since i gave away my other stand which i was using the extra T fittings from on my df35 stand to measure CG. So much better to know exactly how shes setup!

Went for a rip today, had the batteries moved as far forward as i could, boat ran good, but still a bit loose, water was a bit rippley too. Anyways made about 7 or 8 solid passes and then as i was making my next pass at full throttle she got hairy so i let off and as i did that the boat was in air and then pointed down and literally nose dived in to the water and vanished!!

a few seconds later it floated to the surface upsidedown, i was able to catch it quickly with my tennis ball/rod and reel it in, much to my surprise considering i have a foam seal 4 hatch locks and still taped the hatch seam the boat was FULL of water!! After a couple scratches of my head i realized the factory seam between the hull and deck is split!!

From the beginning the original hatch did not fit worth crap now the factory deck seam is split?? I sure expected better from a REAL Delta Force hull, forget that! From now on i'm buying copies!

I am so close to just washing my hands with this hull, its driven me crazy from the get go!! uggghhhh......................... I have a new motley crew on the way, maybe i'll just throw the swordy and 1717 in it??? lmao

                              Sucks

Sorry man, I thought you did a good job building it. Are you just at the speed that things like this happen maybe?

I know how you feel man. I ran my EKOS today and it ran flawlessly (and fast, there is enough power there to go about as fast as I want). Then I ran my River cat (the one that had the ESC go nuclear in it) and fried another ESC. I swear that boat is hexed. It sucks when a really nice boat starts to feel like a piece of crap. I may be putting that one in the swap shop. I know its just a product of the poorly manufactured ESCs I ran in that boat but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth for the whole boat.

yeah i thought i did a good job too, but i think its hexed just like your river cat! I did just strip everything out of the hull and then tested it by filling with water and the seams barely leak a few drops at a time just on one side, so its an easy fix just a pita to get in there with some matt and resin, but i'll get it done, figure it wont even need paint i'll just put a pinstripe over the hairline crack/seam.

Maybe i am just at the top speed this hull can handle? Its running 55+ every pass, i know my expectations were a bit high, it rides sweet in glass water and turns really well it just doesn't like the chop when i'm at WOT, if i'm only 3/4 throttle it can handle any chop ive thrown at it at 45mph with ease, but that extra bit of speed and she starts to get loose and bucks like a mad bull!! Starting to think i should have gone with a pirate hull maybe something with a deeper v??
