Paint on the top is finished, have to finish the bottom then hit it with clear. Hopefully the humidity is down to a sane level soon (it was hovering around 75% today!) so I can get some clear on it and get it running.

Got out for a run today, lots of work to do still... Good news is that it stayed upright and came back cold and dry! Only took 1400mah out of the 5000mah packs in about 3.5 minutes of running, so there's lots of room left. It'll handle the m445 no problem once I put it on, this run was done using a stock SV27 plastic prop.
I've already lowered the trim tabs so they're parallel with the bottom of the hull, they were up at least 5* in the video. I also moved the packs forward to move the CG forward about 1/2". Hopefully that keeps it more in the water.
The other good news is that even though it was dancing around out of the water, it was very stable and always came down straight as an arrow when I let off.

Another run today, still not great:
I've since raised the prop up a bit and swapped to the m445. I'm hoping the combination of raised prop and lower lift prop will keep more of the hull in the water more often.Light travels faster than sound, so people may appear to be bright until you hear them speak.Comment

Did you laminate/coat the rails in epoxy? Otherwise i believe the moisture will cause them to rot-AriochComment

Rails were coated in epoxy (underside before being epoxied into the hull) and also clear coat just in case I missed any places with the epoxy.
I wouldn't worry too much about the motor to transom measurement too much, I based it 100% on using stock SV27 hardware (uncut flex included), but mine is 8.5" from the outside of the transom to the top of the rear mount.Light travels faster than sound, so people may appear to be bright until you hear them speak.Comment

Finally ran it on the m445 with some positive angle on the stinger. It ran better, but still way too light. I ended up blowing over on glass smooth water and no wind :D
Since then I've pulled the hardware, re-mounted the stinger 1/8" higher up and have it mostly back together. Just have to put the servo, rx and flotation back in.
I'm hoping this keeps some of the boat in the water, the last run was stinger prop and rudder only. It also had a bad tendency to hop around turns, even with trim tabs and turn fins. The bottom of the stinger was level with the bottom of the hull before which I think was too deep.
Even with the m445 it's not pulling that much current, after about 4 minutes I only put 1600mah back into the packs, and the motor was only barely warm. ESC and batteries were cold.Light travels faster than sound, so people may appear to be bright until you hear them speak.Comment

Nice wparsons! I just finished mine and fixed the esc issue I was having by swapping it out with a
Seaking 120. I used the UL-1 Motor and flex in mine along with the hardware from Ben at FighterCat. These are very fun boats, not as fast as my UL-1, but alot funner!
I'm also running an M445 on mine
I just uploaded of vid of mine today, here it is....

thanks man! Just as a curiosity, where's your center of balance? You think that may be problem? or do you have plenty of room to adjust inside to get right balance? just wondering if you think that may be part of it. My first run ran alot better than that vid I posted, but I don't think I had the batts in same place. It was my last set of batts, so couldn't try to experiment.A bizarre incident in the outskirts of an American suburb. It was later revealed the disaster was caused by the T-Virus. The last run was with the packs way forward, the CG was about 38% from the transom. I had run it as far back as ~28% and as far forward as ~38%. Forward was a bit better, but it still ran way too dry.Light travels faster than sound, so people may appear to be bright until you hear them speak.Comment
